I was having trouble with my Blue Cruise just stopping. I'd get the orange oval with the word canceled underneath. I had deduced that this only occurred when the car was physically hot. It'd be ok in the morning but wouldn't work at all in the afternoon on a 100+ degree day.

So, I took to the dealer this week on Tuesday. By the end of the day they had diagnosed it to a wire that needed replacement. On Wednesday they asked Ford for approval to go ahead under the extended warranty. By Wednesday night it was approved and the dealer ordered the part. By mid Friday the part was replace and I had the car back. The ford service rep kept me updated via text message every step of the way. All in all, a very successful repair trip.

My car is 3.5 years old and out of factory warranty. I had purchased the bumper to bumper 8-year, 100,000 mile extended warranty for $1,600 when I bought the car back in 2021. I asked the service agent what the cost would have been without the warranty. He did some poking on his computer and said this would have cost $2,300. So, I've paid for the warranty and had a good dealership experience in the same day.

I don't get the reference. But, in this case, I was referring to the Intelligent Cruise Control portion of BlueCruise not hands free. But, of course, without ICC there's no hands free.

I've been jabbing at Ford since I reserved my car. You could not order a GT-PE with a metal roof and the 360 cameras until the 2024 models came out. The 360 cameras were tied to the panoramic roof for no good reason even though they were separate options. Adding the cameras and sensors is economically infeasible, even at wrecking yard prices. ?‍♂?

Great to hear. That is exactly why I got the extended warranty. It's insurance in case something happens, and on a newer car like this with lots of tech, the repair cost can be mind-boggling on some things that look minor.
