Mach-E Sales Suspended due to Wiper Motor Recall?

First post. I'm in the market for my first EV, and decided on a Mach-E. I reached out to a dealer inquiring about a new 23 GTPE, and the sales rep told me last night there is a nationwide hold on sales of all Mach-Es due to a front wiper motor issue. I see there is a recall for certain models/build dates, but no reference to a sales hold. Sounds like the guy is misinformed?

Assuming I can, hope to purchase in the next week or two. Looking forward to joining the club!

Vehicles with open recalls cannot be sold.

The affected Mach-Es were built at the Cuautitlan, Mexico, plant from July 3-17, 2023, and a total of 3,603 vehicles are affected.

I have an affected MME and was notified by Ford via messages on both my Ford app and website login as well as a letter in the mail. Would think any current owner that has not received such notices is not affected. For those looking to buy, run the VIN as suggested above.

I was surprised this happened back in august and somehow I missed it. I just checked my vin and it's not in the group

If your vehicle is affected the message you will receive on fordpass and ford.com that PA27 referred to looks like the attachment. It’s a screenshot of the notice I received. Unavoidably I had to drive about 20 or 30 miles in the rain a couple of days ago. The good news is the wipers did not lockup or otherwise fail. The bad news is they may be living on borrowed time. I have not received the take the car to the dealer for repair message yet from Ford. As so many on the forum are fond of saying, “soon”.?

That was the first thing I learned when I sold Cadillac!
