A very disappointing development. I have been using a Juicebox 32 that my utility provided for $103 two years ago. I have only been using the app to set Amps between 12 and 32 depending on need. I just set it back to 32 A as it appears the app will become useless. Since we don't drive much, using lower Amps is useful to stretch out charging times (helps 12V charging).

I don't know if the Juicebox stores the charging schedule on the box. It probably doesn't, but to be safe I would also remove your 11pm charging schedule from the Enel app.
It doesn't. The app has been on the fritz the last couple of days with my charger disappearing. Two days ago I noticed on my tesla app that the house pulling using 11 kwh and that was because the charger had disappeared in the app and thus the charge schedule. I updated the schedule on my car and that fixed the issue but now it is simply plug and charge only without the app.

My JB quit working just out of warranty. They offered to sell me a new one at full MSRP, even higher than Amazon and all competitors. And when I said no, the rep said I might fix the stuck relay if I thwacked the box a few times on the side with a malet. Comically, that did work. And I've thus far repeated it a few times. But I'd already decided that when it goes, I'll get something else.
I'd actually planned to buy a chargepoint back when I got the JB, but my utility was selling them at a $250 discount, that was about two years ago. I'll use it til it dies. BUT I will keep the "bang it with a mallet" should it glitch on me :)

Wow! I purchased a JB40 thru Costco online in May of 2024.

When I experienced issues with that original unit (had to set a max of 32amp or it would shut down), Belisario Varela of their customer support, did a WONDERFUL job of providing my service. My hope is that someone quickly hires Belisario.

I have just received a replacement JB40 under warranty and put it into service, at the full 40amp rating.

We are fortunate, in that we plug the unit in when we park for the night and the Ford App determines when our Mache reaches the target charge. The Enel App plays no role for us.

Now we have the new unit, set at 40amp, and the old unit sitting in a box as a spare.

Again, my wishes are for the employees who may be displaced by this decision. Best of luck!

they may not have even been in the US, when I had the issue, an ENEL tech support in South Africa, fixed mine straightaway remotely

I am using the JuiceBox 40 provided by FPL as part of their home charging program. I reached out to a contact at FPL to ask if this is going to affect them. The charger connects via the FPL app - I'm not sure if they have a modified version of the software or are using an API to connect to it - I'm waiting to see what happens

I'm using the JB because that is the only one my local utility supports for reduced rates from midnight to 0800. I contacted the utility, no answer to what happens on 10/11. It has worked well with the exception of once about 2yrs ago the relay stuck but I hit on the side of the cover resolved it. Never was a fan of the cord in winter temperatures.

The stuck relay is a cold weather thing, if you happen to live where that happens.

Leased one of these as part of a time of use deal with my utility. Not sure what's going to happen. I called customer service earlier this week about an issue with my "preferred charge time not working" and they said something about some issues they were having. He said they would send an email when it was solved. Maybe this was the email...

Android app does. I changed my one charger to 48amps, other already was. I believe when you reboot via a power cycle, they would default anyway.
Is that actually true? Wouldn't that be a major fire hazard if you had only wired for a lower amperage? I suppose it would just immediately trip the (say 40A) breaker...

I wonder what all “software discounted” means. I can’t change settings on my charger or no more updates. ?‍♂
Software discontinued means both....we cannot change settings, leaving loyal customers in the lurch. What a chicken shit move to say "in 7 days" but shut down the App servers immediately. A moral company would have given 30 days notice and advise that owners use the server to make any final adjustments!!


I literally received a new unit under warranty yesterday. I found out this morning that it trips the 50 amp breaker at its factory set 40amp dumb charge. Guess who can't change that setting?

And if the software is discontinued, you know the answer on updates....roflmao!
