I was reading through the thread and didn't understand what the complaint was, since I was remembering my Lightning's stalk and forgot the Mach-E had two stalks.

To the people worrying about this, it is not hard at all. It is pretty intuitive and you get used to it very quickly. I switch between my Lightning and my wife's Mach-E and I adapt to it right away
There does have to be an additional control for the rear washer that's missing from the Lightning. It's not immediately obvious where that's going to be on the Mustang.

I'm annoyed at Ford for shoving all of that into the Lightning and leaving the right side of the wheel empty. They should have given us the option for a column shifter, IMO.

This is one of the things I've been requesting for a while. This IPC looks way more modern and cleaner, I'm happy to see them listening to customers and the fact that they are continuously updating the BC software is great, though I hope the 21 MY are able to experience these updates as well.

Still, there are a lot of things they could add to the software:

1. Preconditioning in CarPlay/Android Auto
2. Tesla Supercharger navigation in both CarPlay/Android Auto and the in-built navigation.
3. Reduce lag from the software overall.
4. Pet Mode
5. More In-Built Apps (Spotify, Netflix, etc.)
6. Further control of car settings and modes via FordPass

Column shifters = Just No! On a car with a console. They were developed for cars with bench front seating. A car with a center console needs a floor/console shifter. Super-bad design choice going from one poorly functioning shifter to another. ??

Here are some interior shots from the press footage showing some of the new features, in particular a totally new instrument cluster UI with new fonts. Looks like the power/regen meter will always be shown in the right side. Speedometer will be slightly offset to the right, which should help calm down the complaints from some people about the wheel blocking it. Main screen UI looks the same. There will be a passthrough from the center console into the new cubby for a phone cable. The turn signal stalk will now be much larger with all the wiper functions integrated. Red stitching comes with the Sport Appearance Package on the Premium trim.

Is it certain that it will function poorly? I thought your objection was aesthetic, rather than functional.

You just can’t whack a great long knobbly if-you-can’t-find-um-grind-um stick shift ?

Press down for drive, press up for reverse, press the park button on the end of the stalk for park.

Well, at least the speedo now seems to be in a spot that isn't partially obscured by the steering wheel. Small victories. ?‍♂?
Must be well over 6’3” or have seat raised fully. I’m 6’3 and it’s is not obscured for me.

Not everyone rides in their car with the seat slung back like a gang banger ?‍♂

Do any of these changes in instrument cluster reach previous produced cars? Looks nicer and somewhat modern.

Yeah I'm a little concerned how "busy" the left side combined turn signal/front wiper+wash/rear wiper+wash/high beam stalk will be. Will there still be six different wiper settings like now? Two different rear settings? We don't know yet.
Ford is slimming down the parts bin...

The 2024 SuperDuty is similar as well... no rear wiper though. Even my old 2013 F-150 Raptor has it's wiper controls on turn signal stalk so it's not exactly a new design...

I kind of figured it would be dual rotating knobs like the Bronco. Makes sense to just re-purpose that part for the MME. ??
