Im attempting to buy used Mache out of state. Assuming everything goes to plan and I end up purchasing it, is there anything I need to know before hitting the road back?

-Do I need to erase previous drivers profile and registering to myself before starting 1 drive back?

-Should I download and signup for various EV charging apps before I even look at the car?

-Do I need any adapters if I want to charge at CCS Combo1 stations, or do I just pull up and it will be simple plug&play operation?

-Anything particular to look for when test driving? (carfax is clean. Pictures and videos are also flawless)

Yes. Master reset.

After buying.

No adapters, but not Plug and Play.

Has HVBJB been replaced?

Have you owned an EV before? How far is the drive?

Never owned an ev, but was considering for a long time, and Mach-e was the one I always wanted, but it was a little out of my range with the up charges from dealers during covid.

HVBJB hasnt been replaced, and that particular vin doesnt have it listed as a recall, but vehicle will still be under 3yr warranty, which gives me some peace of mind.

HVBJB is covered for 8 years / 100,000 miles.

What year, trim, battery size, and how much?

If it has Bluecruise, test it on different highways.

Find out if the registered for and have/have not received the NACS adapter from Ford. If they have, make sure it's included with the car. If they have registered for it, you won't be able to do so.

Sign up for EV charge memberships along the route from where you are picking up the car to home. (look in ABRP or Plug share)
  • Electrify America,
  • Blink,
  • EVgo
etc... depending on what is located on your rote home.

You will want to set up plug and charge once you have the car, but that will take a little time.

Resale values are in the toilet bowl
Which only matters when selling. He’s buying used, which should put him on the other side of the equation. If he’s keeping for more than a few years he’s ahead of the game. ??

Ignore the naysayers. You're purchasing a product, not investing in a company. The resale value is the least important thing to think about when it comes to buying a used vehicle.

If I were shopping for a used car right now, a used Mustang would be my first or second choice. Maybe an R1T or R1S would be first, but the prices on used vehicles are so outrageously different that the Mustang would win.
