2014 Chevy Volt. Future Mach-E Rally owner?
Just a couple random comments....

1. There's already a heated steering wheel.
2. The Rally should not be the competitor to the 5 N. The GT should be. And the Rally can line up with the 5 XRT.
1. Note taken on the heated steering wheel, why not add ventilated while we're at it lol.
2. That's a good point!
;)

My personal future MME wishlist for @FordMotorCompany:

-Sentry mode
-Bigger LVB that's more accessible
-More customization options for the IPC
-More native vehicle data access
-Cleaner, more consistent OTA updates
-Physical buttons for the HVAC
-Rear outboard heated seats
-Actual exterior door handles (I'm even ok with the flush, pop-out variety)
-More interior material finish options and color combos

Other things like faster changing and more range should come automatically with evolving tech. I do agree, however, that Ford seems to be a bit behind the curve in this area.
DITTO on everything!
I'm kinda split in the middle with the HVAC being physical, because I actually like how Ford integrated the HVAC system to the screen.
That's just me though.
Thanks for the feedback!

As I've stated on other threads but worth restating: A joystick transmission control that can shift easily into regen mode, i.e. one pedal mode, rather than the current method of navigating the screen menu. In lieu of a joystick transmission control, at least place the regen/one pedal mode button on the main screen so it can be toggled on/off easily.

The much larger issue: Ford's ergonomic and human interface engineers should evaluate ALL the performance features that should be main-screen and one-touch. Some already exist, e.g. heated seat level, fan level. I think the flow-through vent button should be on the main screen this way. My wife navigates to the flow through button hundreds of times a day - literally - closing it to prevent dust, diesel fumes, etc. from entering the cabin. The auto climate setting changes it from closed to open. It should remain in the state last manually set, either open or closed.
That's a good point, perhaps some manufactures use paddle shifters to mitigate this problem?
Agree on the HMI improvements, as it'd be great if Ford improves the software and makes on-screen adjustments less distracting.

- Maybe you meant this via the 800V architecture but then yes, much faster charging rates.
- much longer range
- Have the magma-ride suspension as a Premium option or,
- simply improve the suspension tuning for premiums to be more BMW like circa 2006.
- Main screen response should be quicker.
Correct, in regards to the vehicle voltage architecture.
Magneride technology is great and needs to be taken more advantage of (when it comes to the manual adjustments by the driver).
Maybe Ford may opt to use a Snapdragon processor to make the HMI better
? (I know a lot of manufactures are going this route)?

Make #3 a flip-down heads-up display! As in, make the gauge cluster screen something that folds down so that it completely disappears from sight if I want it to. I don’t need to see the speed I’m traveling at twice when I have it appearing right on the road in front of me. Plus the drivers display in our cars is very minimal anyway, would fit perfectly into a hud without much change needed. Oh, and make it a manual fold. Reduces parts and chance something might break when needed the most. Of course when conditions make huds hard to read (never had that problem), I can always flip up the driver screen when needed. Would make for a really clean look without forcing me to glance sideways like a certain competitor does.

for the most part I think you covered a lot.

AC outlet anyone??? At least one?

prolly way out there, but V2L-V2H would be sweet! Ioniqs seem to have it, why not we?

and now that the 2025 model has been released…

GIMME MY FRUNK BAAAAAAACK!!! The combining cubic space offered by the frunk in the previous model was one of the things that really drew me to this car. Even though the hatch was smaller than my last ice vehicle, the frunk more than made up for it.

And while we’re at it, a powered frunk, or at least a one touch external button based on fob-PAAK proximity would be nice, as opposed to double-yanking the footwell lever or punching in the whole door code.

Nice to have: Raptor-Amber DRLs would look amazing on the GT, not to mention would kinda help set it apart more now that the 2025 premiums have essentially adopted the whole GT exterior via a sport appearance package.

Minor nitpicks include:

regarding dat frunk… please figure out the temperature issues if you haven’t already. Someone would have to test the 2025 models to see if the issues with the frunk getting hot with ac on has been resolved. As far as I know, most other vehicles don’t seem to have this issue, at least not to the extent our cars have.

Remote start fails or stops when frunk opened. Please, it’s an EV, not an ICE.

Remote start limitations. Please, it’s an EV, not an ICE! A simple “your started this car twice already but didn’t drive it, are you sure you want to start again” with a press and hold-swipe up left or some other obnoxious gesture in the app would do, as opposed to not letting me warm up the car at all because my doctors appointment was canceled yesterday and I got to go to work today. Or at least raise it to 5 attempts before requiring me to drive it again.

All those double honks and loudly obnoxious, annoying “chimes”. PLEASE, it’s an EV, and these loud, long and repetitive, bassy notes ain’t chimes! (Thank God for forscan, but for goodness-sake!) Door shut without key while car is on, HONK HONK! While buckling seatbelts just after turning car on, BudABOOP to the power of 7. Please, STOP!

camp night mode (this cars a really nice place to be in honestly, would be even better if I don’t have to bring two towels with me to cover the screens, which turn up brighter when I turn off my headlights.

minor, but sometimes the slightly forward hood line jutting past the headlights fender portions just slightly bugs me - especially considering how clean and fit-perfect every other part of this car is.

Better tailgate and frunk light placement, with manual on-off and auto toggle. One of my biggest nitpicks whenever loading my car.

and just in case, please don’t downsize this car! the dimensions a perfect, one of the most cavernous vehicles I’ve ever been in for it’s size. Nothing from even Lincoln comes close in terms of legroom and general comfort, excluding uber lux features like massage and all…

Edit: completely forgot to add, better access to critical bits like jump points, tow hooks, clearly marked safe points for jack lifts, and an easy manual way to get in and out of the car should the electronics fail, common things that heaven forbid I would never need during my ownership of this otherwise excellent car!
Interesting thought on the HUD possibilities!
I was thinking that there are some HUD designs that just project out on the windshield (some manufactures allow the driver to customize what shows up there) and can be turned off when not in use (prevent more moving parts, with a solid state design).
Agree on the 1 or 2 AC plugs, V2L-V2H, and that frunk!
If only Ford had switched to J3400/NACS in the MY 2025, then there would be more space (lost space due to heat pump and adapter holder slot lol).
It'd be nice if Ford made a Ford Performance Rally variant (with some design elements of the Mach-E 1400).
Nonetheless, great points and thanks for the input!

Now you're talkin' my language!
Just shed some weight, maybe use some carbon fiber components/panels?

As others have mentioned, V2X with built in AC outlets and at least 2kW output. Not having any AC outlets is a big mistake given how many other Ford vehicles have them. My 2015 Flex has AC outlets!

Something I have wanted many times is the ability to reduce L2 charging current from the car and/or the app. The Ford mobile charger is useless to me everywhere because my garage 240V outlet is only 30A and anytime I visit a relative or Airbnb, they have a 240V outlet for a dryer (30A max), but not a dedicated 40A or 50A circuit. Since any time you plug the car into the mobile charger you can only get 32A charging, it's a completely useless $500 purchase. Tesla and most other EVs would let me plug it in and set a 24A max charge limit and charge the car. It's amazing that the Mach E doesn't have such a basic feature.

Great question. Ever since vehicles became equipped with 'auto' climate, the climate systems in cars can't be overridden easily. I absolutely hate it. I sometimes like to drive with cool air flowing through. Auto climate systems want to warm or cool to the set temperature. An 'off' setting does not allow manual control. At least I've not figured that out.
Not exactly what you’re probably looking for, but you can just run the fan on, venting, without turning on the heat or the AC. As far as I know, the temperature buttons don’t really do too much when heat and AC are both turned off. This car’s one of the few modern ones I’ve been in which doesn’t force me to turn on heat or AC just to get the air moving without cracking a window.

Yeah, ProPower onboard.
If you have a Powerboost, you are amazed at how well Ford leveraged that little 1.5KWH high voltage battery to provide 7.3KW of rolling grid power.

Although having a Powerboost makes it less painful that Ford didn't even equip the Mach-E with a small inverter, it's a head scratcher. Tap the HV battery for about half of what ProPower puts out and I'd be thrilled!

This sounds like a package that is maybe best offered through Ford Performance. Build a Lincoln variant with available air suspension, but make a retro-fit package available for the Mach-E.
