There are now enough 2024 EPA stickers floating around that we can get a pretty good picture of the range and efficiency improvements.
First, the bad news - Standard Range models (LFP Pack)
Numbers are flat to slightly worse. Overall, City MPGe declines slightly, and Highway shows slight improvement. Range figures are unchanged
The good news - Extended Range Models
Numbers are improved across the board. City MPGe improves by 5-6, and Highway by 8-9. Range is up by 10 miles for like models, or 20 if you consider the 2024 GT the successor to the 2023 GTPE. (Note, the 2024 GT numbers are from one sticker posted to this board. It's unclear if the numbers are any different without the performance option)
Interestingly, the changes in these numbers are not internally consistent. The range figures improved by considerably smaller amounts than any of the other numbers. For example, the AWD ER had a 6.2% increase in city MPGe, a 10.6% increase in highway MPGe, a and a 8.1% decrease in kwh/100 miles, but it only shows a 3.4% increase in its range figure. It will be interesting to see what some of the more consistent third party reviewers report when they run their own tests.
