I’m wondering if there will be much if any support for those of us that push the updates ourselves. If we FDRS + Forscan can we un- Forscan?
I know we wouldn’t be able to downgrade back to 1.2. As it stands I have pretty good BC without the wonky IPC. But I’d like the stability (if it’s more stable) of 1.3, could care less probably about lane change. BC1.5 video shows 4 blinks and not only just 4 blinks of the signal but that the car actually moved in that amount of time.
Updating yourself with FDRS does not prevent you from getting OTA's when new updates are released. It is just a matter of waiting your turn once new updates shows up as a pending update for your VIN. FORScan changes will not prevent OTA's either. All you did was speed up Ford's OTA process by doing it yourself.

Is there a list with pics of the flags that need changed to enable?
It is not posted publicly, but if your car is updated, message him or me or anyone that has done it and they can share the FORScan changes with you.

This entire BC journey from promised pricing getting revoked to paused updates for my 2021 job 1, the terrible brakes and pad binding, HVBJB recalls, the abysmal dealer and service experience, no nacs port in 2025, thermal throttling and below average l3 charging has absolutely taken Ford out of consideration for my next EV.

You guys are in here talking about a 500 dollar mongoose adapter, a $700+ battery maintainer, a laptop and a software license to apply updates to a $56,000 vehicle that Ford cannot. Meanwhile my neighbor got a proactive call from rivian and a mobile tech is in his garage today replacing his 12v battery and applying software updates free of charge.

There's options now, and Ford doesn't want my business.
Perception is reality, and this is the perception many customers have. You are right; there are options out there and some people will opt to take a different direction for their next vehicle. We shouldn't HAVE to resort to doing these things ourselves.

However, the fact that we have the option to do so is pretty cool in its own right. At least, imo it is.

I'm speculating more along the lines of what Ford or the dealers might pull if 1.3 doesn't go out to 21's. Like a "oh hey you're EA and hosed." Or "This shouldn't have happened, we have no way to unmodule your car, you'll just have to live with X issue that surfaced on your vehicle because of 1.3".
Or if I FDRS my IPMA PSSC up to 1.3 and they don't release it to the wild but branch off 1.2 and the new OTA doesn't 'see' my car because I'm not module version XXX.XXX but rather a newer version because of the branching.

I have no way of answering this question as I have no insider info from Ford. What I can tell you is that based on the way similar things have been handled in the past, Ford does have a way of adding guided routines to FDRS to fix these types of things. They would fall under some sort of CSP campaign that dealer can refer to and bill Ford for.

As long as the software version that comes out is newer than whatever you already have, it will be available for you OTA once the OTA roll-out commences or via FDRS.

As of 7-10 days ago, a new IPMA software update was made available for ICE F150's which is BBC. As of right now, it is ONLY available for 2021 trucks and only with FDRS. Is this IPMA software only for 2021's and 22-23 will get a different one? Or, will it be available for all F150's and Lightnings eventually and maybe the Mach E, too? Only time will tell. But, all 2021 F150 owners regardless of them being FDRS users or not have this update available. I am only mentioning this here with the intention of shedding some light on your concern. This BBC version may never make it to the Mach E the same way the BAE version you guys got months ago may never make it to the F150/Lightning.

I am so sick of Ford ignoring us 2022 F150 owners and showing preferential treatment to the privileged early adopters of the Gen14 F150.

Sorry, couldn't resist. ?

Oh how I love that wicked 2022 KingRanch Powerboost F150.

I don't understand why Ford doesn't just announce a CSP that allows us to update manually at a dealer.....
I would be perfectly content if there were no more OTAs after this, since none have been promised. Ford, please, just give up and let us manually update.

There is no update a dealer can apply that will get a 2021 BlueCruise 1.3. They can update all the modules but that alone won’t get you 1.3. Dealers don’t do FORSCAN. If you don’t want to wait your only option is FDRS updates followed by FORSCAN. If you don’t want to do FDRS and/or FORSCAN, your option is to wait on the OTA push.

I have a R1S and had this happen to me as well. But I will say my Mach E’s BC 1.0 is still way, way better than Rivian’s current driver assist package….

Maybe we need to post a poll to find out how many owners have self upgraded to BC 1.3 via FDRS and FORDSCAN

It's probably a few dozen, out of a few tens of thousands of cars sold for model year 2021.

A voluntary internet poll wouldn't give a much more accurate result. And even a precise result would not be very useful information. What would you do with such data?

Ford sold a bit under 60,000 mach-e's in 2021 iirc. Those were split approximately equally between the EU/Eurozone/UK and North America.

I agree, a poll of the .000001% of owners that are actually on the forum wouldn't be of much practical use.

Why keep it a mystery? Why not just publish these codes?

And of those vehicles, how many were BlueCruise capable?

From what I understand, Ford got upset about it many months back when the gurus figured out the Asbuilt values necessary and posted them publicly. The fellas behind the knowledge decided to not post them publicly. No reason to draw unnecessary ire.

It takes very little effort to acquire. So no big deal. I was sent the values without even requesting them, simply because a generous fella noticed I had achieved the necessary software using FDRS. (my F150)

Oddly enough, my 2023 3.5 GTPE came from Ford with BC 1.3 and still didn't have the APIM configured to render "Lane Change Assist" toggle, as well as "Lane repositioning". Both features are functional, but neither can be toggled off.

On the truck, where I did the APIM config myself, both features appeared with the appropriate toggles.
