How he did it was clearly specified in his post. He did it with FDRS to get on the right software and then used FORScan to activate the new features hidden inside the software. This is true for any BC equipped vehicle Ford makes regardless of the year it was built.
At this point, anyone who still DOESN'T believe that Ford has long ago developed and released BC 1.3(1.4?) for 2021 Mach-Es,...... Well, they just aren't ever going to believe it.

And with Ford posting here, as of yesterday, that they have never decided to give up on delivering it via OTA, those claims are just frustration being voiced. (justified, of course)

As for the threats and the scare technique about all of Fords lawyers and do not sue them I did mentioned before it is not worth the stress to prove aholes wrong as the value for me doing it is not there and I can afford a few mistakes.
Hey I want you guys to sue. Every person on this forum that says they want to sue over this and that. Go sue sue sue. Sue your little hearts out.

I’m wondering if there will be much if any support for those of us that push the updates ourselves. If we FDRS + Forscan can we un- Forscan?
I know we wouldn’t be able to downgrade back to 1.2. As it stands I have pretty good BC without the wonky IPC. But I’d like the stability (if it’s more stable) of 1.3, could care less probably about lane change. BC1.5 video shows 4 blinks and not only just 4 blinks of the signal but that the car actually moved in that amount of time.

This entire BC journey from promised pricing getting revoked to paused updates for my 2021 job 1, the terrible brakes and pad binding, HVBJB recalls, the abysmal dealer and service experience, no nacs port in 2025, thermal throttling and below average l3 charging has absolutely taken Ford out of consideration for my next EV.

You guys are in here talking about a 500 dollar mongoose adapter, a $700+ battery maintainer, a laptop and a software license to apply updates to a $56,000 vehicle that Ford cannot. Meanwhile my neighbor got a proactive call from rivian and a mobile tech is in his garage today replacing his 12v battery and applying software updates free of charge.

There's options now, and Ford doesn't want my business.

I have multiple Ford vehicles and the family fleet has yet more.

The necessary laptop wasn't a purchase dedicated to maintaining vehicles, so it's just the Mongoose. Therefore it's amortized across multiple vehicles and not the same value equation for me than it might be others.

We've had great luck with Ford products for many years. Certainly would not be happy if I had to deal with the dealerships and their deteriorated customer service level over the recent years.

That being the most expensive options possible…. Which I’ll still take that over the nearest service center being (checks maps) 8 hours round trip away.

Yup. Absolutely.

Our local Ford dealer is a mixed bag. I do better than they do on routine items, such as updates. My mongoose adapter was purchased second hand (thanks @scoopman). Everything else I already had.

One size does not fit all. Every circumstance is unique. As an example:

Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche require you to sign an acknowledgment that there is no service outside of Honolulu and no help will be provided.

Genesis doesn’t sell EVs here.

Neither Does Polestar.

Kia has a presence. It varies from on the bad side of mediocre to decent.

Tesla is on Oahu and has minimal maintenance presence elsewhere atm. They also don’t ship to anywhere other than Oahu.

The Chevrolet dealership is owned by the company that has distribution rights to Toyota in the entire state (Toyota USA has nothing to do with Hawaii). They’re worse than no dealer.

Nissan has the absolute worse dealership among any dealership in the state. They also sell Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge. The worst.

If anyone is all that upset about their Mach-e, regardless of reason or legitimacy of the complaint, move on. Just be aware of what the alternatives really are. Sometimes the grass is greener for some very foul reasons.

Yepppp! I'm on the Rivian hype train and they will get money next year. Ford could have had double what I paid for my mme but, nope!not giving them any more money

Worked with the HVJB (eventually) and you should be thankful that some did. When you have a company that lacks ethics it is sometimes required. But hey Ford has lawyers lots of them.

Word. Some can see things for what they are. There will be another PR thread started here soon about I have no problems. As noted you never truly know a company until you do. All problems had here are because their stuff just does not work as sold. The basics drive charge and maintain itself. I finally got everything ironed out and then software crippled the L2. DCFC now has not hit over mid 50's on stations it was over 90; plugshare check ins says over 100 by other NP. Here it has to be the charger. ?‍♂ We can help push them to be better no lawyers required.

The "Check your vehicle's BlueCruise availability" link just looped back to the main BlueCruise page for about a week, and on that page they had removed 2021 model year, as your first circle shows. They fixed the looping link over the weekend.
So most likely someone broke a link?
It

How did you do this when others say a VIN requirement exists? Who is telling the truth?
I have an early 21 GT that I took delivery of in Oct 2021. I applied all the available FDRS updates then changed the 1/2 dozen flags using FORScan and it enabled BC 1.3 and added the options to the UI. It works.

Also I still have yet to pay anything to Ford for BC as they recently gave me another year for free, so I get at least a year with BC 1.3 before I have to decide if it’s worth it.

Is there a list with pics of the flags that need changed to enable?

These BC updates in FDRS are not VIN specific? Meaning any 2021 owner with BC 1.0 can jump on FDRS and upgrade? Or not?

FDRS is absolutely VIN specific.
It will show nothing unless a VIN is supplied. But it would be rather odd for a VIN of a 2021 not to populate with these updates in FDRS. Afterall, the vehicle doesn't yet have these updates installed.
