It’s a very convenient storage area (and lockable)
I second that - it is very convenient and very lockable.

Once I put my working laptop there and could get it back only after the car was in the shop for three days while the dealership's mechanics tried to open it. :D

The 15 minutes of extra charging time may not seem like much, but if you take road trips, which I love to do because of my '22, it will add up. For example, four stops would equal 1 extra hour of charge time. Just something to consider when looking at the bigger picture.

My friend just bought an Equinox EV 2RS .. bright red - looks great, but I can't imagine why they put 275x40x21 tires on a SUV with only 213 hp. Also when you open the hood it looks like a normal transverse 4 cylinder sitting in there. I also was surprised to that it is 10 inches longer than an ICE Equinox and only 2 inches shorter than a Blazer EV.
We have an Equinox EV AWD 3LT and the length makes for a more spacious feeling interior than my Mach-E. Especially the 2nd row.

If you needed to store a laptop relatively securely in the car, I'd choose a frunk over the trunk 100% of the time. Try smashing your way into the frunk, compared to the glass of the trunk or the passenger doors (Teslas have been hit by this particularly hard).

Next time, have some imagination and think a little bit before laughing at someone's needs and preferences.
Correct me if I’m wrong …
If you’re smashing your way through the glass to get at what’s inside the trunk, you could then just pop the frunk manually and grab what’s in it as well, no?

man, if that's your deal breaker on an ev suv, i feel sorry for you...lol
Do not underestimate the necessity of the frunk space. I work in NYC where there is constant construction as well as on some highways, so after catching a construction bolt or nail in one tire last year, my spare tire is always in my trunk which clearly decreases the space at times requiring the frunk space. My family and I road trip at least twice a year which means luggage, etcetera in addition to the spare tire, so the frunk space is golden. Hence, I agree, the frunk space is a deal breaker, unless the trunk equals or betters that of having a frunk.

You're 100% right - if the criminals are (a) smart enough to figure out there's a frunk; (b) quick enough to figure out how to open the driver's door after smashing the glass; (c) willing to waste time mucking about finding the frunk release handle and figuring out how it works.

We're not saying it's Fort Knox up in the frunk, but a lot of criminal deterrence is making things less convenient to steal.

I wonder if this also applies to the Blazer and Honda Prologue since they are all built on the same platform.
If I understand the issue, it has to do with the pack voltage being unusually low. The Blazer and Equinox share the same battery pack so I would assume it would be affected as well.

Now this is WAY above my level of understanding regarding pack chemistries, construction and such, but I thought I read somewhere (can't quote it) that with the Ultium platform the battery voltage is directly proportional to the size of the pack. So the Silverado would not be affected in the same way as the Equinox/Blazer (85 kWh, 288v nominal) vs 205 kWh, 345v nominal. The Prologue would be affected also if it has the same pack, which I assume it does. That is supposed to be the advantage of the Ultium system. Scalability using the same cells to lower production costs.

Please feel free to correct me if(I always want to learn something new :) )

The real world? Have you seriously not heard of car break-ins ever? Not everyone lives in the middle of nowhere.
Lol....ok...
