Entitled Ferrari driver blocks EV charger

Just as a note, the reason many of the chargers are close to the entrance is that this is usually the cheapest spot to locate them. It costs a whole lot of money to run trenches to the rear of the parking lot to position them there.

It depends on the location and how the parking lot is setup. Utilities generally run along streets/sidewalks, so there wouldn't need to be much digging to them at the street edge of the parking lot, which is generally farthest from the entrance.

I know there are a lot of things to take into consideration when placing chargers, I just want "Let's be nice to EV users and give them good parking spots" to not be one of them. The dumbest (sort of) EV related parking I've seen are signs for 'clean vehicles' or 'zero emission' vehicles right by the entrance, as if clean vehicle drivers are better than everybody else. I ignored those idiotic signs all the time and parked in them even before I got my Mach-E.

And of course the police are very happy to enforce those with fines.

I'd like to see police start ticketing non-charging vehicles in charging designated spots. That would be quicker and easier than trying to get someone with a tow-truck.

We used to have a guy in Northern Michigan small town who had I believe it it was a really nice alpha Romeo and he parked it outside the bar one night. We’re usually the motorcycles would park this back in the 70s. so a bunch of us went out there and picked it up and turned it around and put it back in the parking space face in the other way lol could always find some guys to do that. Move that Ferrari.

4 charging spots at our local Target are nearly always full with EVs…….not charging

No need to commit a crime to retaliate like keying or flattening his tires . Park real close to both sides of his car . When he comes out he'll find himself blocked in ...just like HE blocked that spot .

Yeah, and then he'll retaliate against YOU and do all the above. Easier to just key it and walk away (like someone did to me last Xmas for no reason).

In your instance you feel a parking spot that was not marked for the vehicle you are driving should not apply for (insert whatever logic you want).

People who park in EV charging spots feel that those signs should not apply for (insert whatever logic).

If you draw a vin diagram of what logic you had when taking spot not marked for you and their logic for taking spot not marked for them….there will be a cross section of identical logic.
