I didn't previously have a showcase and was unaware of how to create one. So I went and messed with the feature.

I created one using a Mobile browser (Android/Brave) and named it Berkliegh's Bullet. (Berkliegh, my granddaughter, told me to buy the Mach-E)

I created the showcase in the GT section, whatever that means. And I am able to publish images, but only if I crush the heck out of them. I don't know exactly what the limit is set at, but it seems it's based on resolution rather than file size.
Thanks for this. They must have changed something WITHOUT telling anyone. My files are not that large anyway. I upload tons of photos in my posts and they have to be less than 3000px in any dimension otherwise they get resized here. Plus I have them heavily compressed to usually less than 1MB.

I will test it out now to see how low of a resolution I need to go before the photo gets accepted. I hope it's not that I have to use an Android browser as that won't be happening. ?

Snakebitten, thank you so much. I was able to upload a photo as long as it was the size of a postage stamp! ? Now I will see how large I can get away with before it won't accept it. As I said previously, all the photos I have uploaded to showcases before were not large anyway and the one I just uploaded to the mustang6g forum which is affiliated with this forum allows me to upload normal size photos.

Ok, after testing 100px at a time, was able to upload photos as high as 1700px in either dimension. Currently, I can uploads photos as high as 3000px on posts here on this forum and on showcases of other forums but apparently something was changed on the Showcases of this forum and 1700px is as high as you can go. Such a simple thing that I did not think of and thanks again to Snakebitten for figuring this out.

I noticed several months ago that several forums I frequent (Same platform and company) suddenly lowered the resolution allowed in posts. I experienced the same behavior that you fellas described in this thread.
So I thought it just might be related.

It's a bummer though that a feature like "SHOWcase" would have lower limits than regular posts. :(

Of all the technology co$ts in hosting, storage space continues to plummet. So the recent belt-tightening on image hosting seems a little stingy. But I don't want to be too critical of the folks that make such a valuable resource available for us to collaborate. These forums play a vital role in the ownership experience for me these days. My tractor, my motorcycles, my cars, my trucks.......

So I don't want to punch the gift horse in the nose too hard. ??

Why was it so hard for the @Administrator to tell us this little fact.

Sorry everyone for the late reply and the attachment issues with Showcase currently.

I've never changed Showcase's attachment settings, so the Showcase feature's configuration went awry somehow along the way. I'm currently having a deep dive to identify and fix the issue.
Thank you for looking into this but I am just happy to know we can still create new and edit existing showcases as long as the photos are not over 1700px. ?

In my testing, I was only able to get up to ~1300px attached (but testing only different resolution of a single image). So the current limit may not just be based on resolution, but perhaps also combined with file size. In any case, will get to the bottom of this.

Maybe so, but I can upload files as large as 10MB however mine are usually less than 1MB. As I was testing resolution, while keeping the file size less than 1MB for every photo, I was only able to get up to 1700px which is fine with me.

How do you resize pictures on iPhone?

You can resize a photo in the Photos app that comes with your phone. I created a Resize Photos shortcut so while in Photos (on your iPhone) you can set the desired pixels you want of a selected photo. As of right now for this forum's Showcase photos, you can't go over 1700px.

I use various image resize apps, ever since the native smartphone picture size/resolution became huge.

There's dozens of apps, each with their own work flow. You gotta experiment and find one you don't get aggravated with. ??

I forgot to mention to Ali that he can resize a photo from the native Photos app that comes with the phone.

I am happy to report that I have added extra photos I wanted to for the last few months to my '21 GTPE showcase and just created a new showcase for my '24 GT.

By the way, should we call a GT with the performance upgrade option anything different like we did with the GT and GTPE?
