I'm convinced that every make/model currently being produced will have very expensive out of warranty pricing.
Not a Ford exclusive.

And they all have expensive technology components. A 2018 Nissan Leaf LED headlight, out of warranty, is more expensive than the Mach-E LED.
So not a Ford exclusive.

And I doubt any Make/Model currently being produced routes their harnesses any easier to reach than Ford does. I don't think vehicles are designed for harness replacement.

I wonder if there is any vehicle currently produced that out of warranty repairs wouldn't be an intimidating consideration?

I hit a deer with the car, it was less than 1yr old. Didn't think the damage was bad, drove it for 5 months before the body shop could get to it. The total bill was $14.5k. Just the front camera and both headlights were $4.7k. I bought the extended warranty from Granger after that since I plan on driving it for 10yrs or when solid state batteries are out, which ever comes 1st.

I checked prices from the 4 places mentioned in this thread, found the lowest price, then contacted my dealer who matched the price. I was going to go with the $0 deductible but the dealer talked me into $100 deductible which saved $180 off the total price of the warranty - hope that was the right decision! But I really like and trust my dealer. Even if the $100 deductible was the wrong decision, my dealer has always been there for me so I'm not too worried.

Only the “wrong” decision if you have to use it more than twice. But if you have to use it once you probably made money anyway.

Though the real bet is most people won’t use it at all. (Which even if that’s a loss of money, is still my preferred option).

Yeah i always buy a factory extended warranty, you never know i have only had to use it on a few cars but after one repair it paid for itself. Plus the peace of mind of it will only cost you $100 not matter the cost of the repair. When I bought my 23 mme I bought and extra year and 12k miles warranty just incase I decided to keep it a little longer that planned.

I am also wondering if it is worth extending the original warranty. I have 6 more months but the dealership has already reached out but has not given me a price...even though I asked through email. I only have 13k miles on my '22 and have had no issues and no car payment so my first thought is not to pay for something I might not need. But would love to hear others opinions. Thanks :)

IMO, the better bet (mathematically speaking) is to avoid the extended warranty. However, this math does not account for value you place on 'peace of mind'....which is what you are buying. Peace of mind is the big variable, here, and everybody places a different value on it.

I've had my MME for about 1.5 years with 18,000 miles. I hear people say that their dealer has worked with them. I guess I'm lucky because I haven't been back to a Dealer since I bought it. It wouldn't make much sense since they went out of business. I haven't had any recalls to deal with a different dealer. I guess I could stop in at my closest dealer and have coffee with him but if I'm not buying they would probably get tired of that.
I can rotate my tires, check the brakes and fluids, so I see no reason to bother a Dealer/Service Tech. Since I have had no issues, I will not buy an extended warranty. I've always enjoyed living life on the edge.

I don't know if you read my post for me buying and orginal manufacturer warranty it's for peace of mind. I also believe electric cars don't have as many problems as normal ice cars but when they do it's big money and its being new technology just makes the options you have to save money on repairs nonexistent. I just read on a post here to replace a cable for the front camera was over 4k. That's crazy. It's like all the other insurance or warranty you buy hopefully you will never need it, but if you do you will be glad you have it. I think i also read that some out of warranty updates you have to pay for. It's comes down to what is you peace of mind worth.

What’s that?
I’m not sure how else to explain it. When you purchase a Ford Premium Care plan, covering lamps is an extra cost. Adds something like $70 to a 10 year, 100K plan.

Oh ok got it, thanks! Thought there was some other part they were trying to sell with the fix that wasn’t needed for the lower trims.
