I am getting request via text message from my dealership. I can’t get specifics on this but I am about to opt them out.

It's been 4 months since you got your 2024 Mach I-2.8 Liter. I reached out to remind you about your 1st 5K Service that will be due on Feb 23rd. Even if you have fewer than 5000 miles, this service is due every 6 months. Do you want me to schedule this for you?
Anyone else getting these? I can’t imagine what needs to be done as I am no where near the 10k check point.

That's pure nonsense. 100% a money grab.

Dealer thinks your car has an ICE. “Mach I-2.8 Liter” ?. Pretty sure they have you setup in their system on an ICE oil change schedule.

Ignore them until you’re ready for service per your owners manual.

I wonder if your 2.8L is more efficient than my 0.0L?

Like mentioned, this is nothing but automated service advertisements from ignorant service departments preying on their customers. Though it's really a bigger combination of things...

1) Old processes and automated systems designed for ICE service intervals. They made a new sale and throw your info into the system that's not designed for low-to-zero maintenance EVs. So they're going to keep reminding you of service intervals that don't exist because their system doesn't allow for anything different.

2) They don't care to fix it because it still brings some number of people in for service they don't need because they don't know any better. More people in the door means more chances to sell cabin air filters, tires, and fluid flushes they don't need.

It's funny reading this after just reading that CA dealers sent a "cease and desist" letter to VW/Scout about their direct sales... claiming to "protect the consumer" by forcing them into the old dealership sales model. Fuck those people. Why should someone be forced into some old sales model to buy vehicles from people that don't even want to sell those vehicles in the first place? Maybe dealers and sales people should start actually trying to understand and sell the vehicles they already have.

after some back and forth… yes they thought this was an ICE. Probably outsourced these call lists to interns or consultants, but sadly maybe not based on what the sales guys knew ?

beyond this every 6 months is aggressive for an ICE car.

Ugh! I worry if I do need some help with the car. I am sure the first thing they will want to check is the fuel pump /s

The last Ford Mustang that had a 2.8L was the very early 1st-gen models up to July 1964. ???
And yet they can't remove said 60 year old vehicle from the system. Probably been trying to push OTA's to it and that's why the 2021's don't get any. Freaking 1964 EA group...

Be sure to let them know you are not feeling like the best part of the Ford family.

I do hate some of these tactics. Occasional “sale” or email coupons is fine. I also prefer email as I do not feel rushed to check it.
(I have a separate email for that)
Best of luck

No. The majority of us don’t get those messages. Your dealer is confused. They think you got an ICE vehicle. Even for an ICE vehicle the service intervals are ridiculous. Delete or opt out. Ford will remind you thru FordPass when is time to bring your Mach E in for service and that is your choice.
Enjoy the holidays.

They're just looking for a reason to sell you that replacement cabin filter.

Same reason they still, in the age of synthetic oil, put 3000 mile oil change stickers on your windshield.

Very likely an automated system. I get something similar for my diesel pickup based on what they calculate should be 3500 miles of driving. Problem is I don’t drive it 1000 miles per year since I retired and especially since I got my GT. Last service was December last year at 56000 miles and it has 56800 miles on it today. ?

I started getting these 6 months after my purchase and still get them. The first one even said I needed an oil change - LOL. I only had around 2,000 km on my car and knew I wasn't due for anything. I looked up the maintenance schedule and showed it to them. They backed down. Now I just ignore the six month texts unless I know something is actually due.
