2022 Mach-e Premium coming up in February at 3 years - should I replace LVB?

Parts department cost is $138 My dealer says $675 installed. Nearby Ford dealer says $138 plus $90 to install.
Or, should I install it myself - not very good on this?

Just replaced mine, 2022 GTPE no issues but didn’t want to risk it. Dealer charged 1 hour labor, don’t recall price of battery.

A little preventative maintenance is never a bad thing IMO but $675 to change out the battery seems a little steep to me.

Replacing it yourself is pretty straight forward if you have done it before on other vehicles. It's no different on the Mach-E just remember to order some replacement clips for the beauty covers because inevitably one of them is going to go flying off into the abyss of the front motor compartment never to be seen again........ask me how I know.

Your dealer is ripping you off. I recently checked to have my '22 GTPE LVB replaced--$180 bucks including labor.

I don’t mean to hijack OPs thread but I have a related question with the 12V age. If you bought the 23’ MME new but it was sitting on the dealers lot for 7 months should we take that age into account or just from purchase date? This might be a “nothing burger” question but I was just curious.

Ask the $90 Ford Dealer if that price includes recalibration of the Battery Control Module. That is not difficult to do but does need to be completed when installing the new battery

Its schrödinger's battery, it both needs to be replaced and does not, and no one knows until you open the frunk liner and replace it.

If you proactively replace you are throwing away $$ as it would have lasted 7 years.

If you dont replace it will likely die within a month at the most inconvenient time.

And not being an ass, in the same boat. My car just did the BC 1.3 install which took 70min, on a cold night, not being charged with no issue. Going by that I am going to replace mine fall of 2025, car will be almost 4 years old by then.

I get what you’re saying but from my experience it was fine one day and the next day my car was a brick. Had to jump the frunk and test battery which confirmed it’s faulty status. Luckily my dealership does mobile service as trying to get it out of garage wasn’t something I was thrilled about. My 02 cents is we save so much money on overall maintenance of these cars that $250 every 3 years is a bargain

List price of the battery is $132.50 plus tax. 30 minutes to install, maybe a few more to reset the BMS. $90 labor isn’t out of line.
I can replace a battery, but didn't know about the BMS reset. Is that an easy thing?

Anyone bought the battery from RockAuto? And you ship the old one to them?
https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/motorcraft,BAGMH3,battery,2476
I just received my battery from Rock Auto yesterday and I'm planning on swapping it out this weekend. Interestingly enough they didn't include a return shipping label for the core. I'm going to assume it'll cost more than $18 to ship it back to them, so I may just recycle my old one and eat the core charge. I'm curious if anyone else has had any experience returning their battery core.

One thing I forgot to mention - for various reasons I have only 10,700 miles on the car even though I am approaching three years. So, with such low miles, should I still replace the battery at 3 years?
