3-year old 12V battery tests "good" - should I still replace it?

My 2021 with 23k miles was replaced twice. Once before I owned it and once by me. It happened during our first cold snap last December and series if cascading software updates and failure of the HVBJB spent a few weeks in the shop. Spending $200-500 on a $50k plus car seems a small price to pay. I haven't left a mechanic for my ICE cars in the last 5 years spending less that $800.

It depends on how lucky you feel. It’s going to fail at some point and you don’t know when that is. If you don’t mind handing it after it fails take your chances.

Also depends on who is likely to be driving when it fails.

I went just over 4 years on mine. I knew what I would do in case of failure, knew how to open the frunk, etc. Then it failed when my wife was driving, away from home, and I was out of phone range for several hours.

I proactively replaced the Lightning battery at 3 years.

I just replaced the LVB in my October 2020 build, after receiving two warnings from FordPass about it, a couple of months apart. I've even treated it really poorly at some points (let it slowly drain while doing FDRS updates because my power supply wasn't powerful enough), etc etc. Didn't have any issues, but figured ~5.5 years is a pretty good run for this. RockAuto took forever to ship, so just FYI for anyone looking at them to get a replacement.
