Mine had a build date of November 2023 and sat on the lot until May 2024. I bought it brand new but the dealer wasn’t maintaining it I’m sure. Long story short, I had to replace it July 2025 because it was failing under load. Not sure if it was killing the battery just sitting on the lot or I got a defective one or what, but that was my experience.
Good to know, thank you!

I have a 10 year old battery with a 36 month warranty in my truck.
I used to routinely get 8-10 years out of the batteries in my ICE vehicles. Different application, and different battery construction.

Went to far and fell in the 12 VDC failure trap. am posting to warn and help you avoid this issue. DO DEMAND or replace yourself the battery at the 36 month mark. I was lucky and blessed by a great dealer that had mobile service. Went past the 36 month and got caught at 41 months. Fortunately i was at home my Dealer was awesome and were able to support same day mobile service. Could have been allot worse. DO NO MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! Change your 12 VDC battery at 36 months on the normal maintenance appointment. tell them to change it without a test. As they say JUST DO IT.

UPDATE 7/11 More info: I had the 12V warning at 36 months and asked the Dealer to replace it at the 40K service. They said there was a software change and the warning was inaccurate also reported the battery tested fine (Again UNTIL IT FAILS) I did get another warning the day before it failed.

ALSO shout out to to the reply noting the door entry button and other functions like recognizing the phone as a key close to the car were not functioning well prior to the failure and just figured it was something to do with an update. All that was corrected with the new battery as well. To me this is strange but also true
I was very conservative and had mine replaced at the dealer around 26 months after purchase of the car! And talk about bad luck: The technician at the dealer installed it incorrectly and left one of the terminals loose! So, I ended up dead in the water about 5 miles from home and had to call for a jump start (Not a bad idea to buy a small jump start and keep in the frunk!). The dealer sent mobile service to replace the battery for free, and the guys told me that the tech who installed my "new" battery had already been fired! No real lesson here, except maybe carrying around a jump start device. It was bad luck.

I just got mine replaced under warranty @ 35.75 months.

The only sign I had was the door lock button on the outside would take 2-4 touches to lock the doors. I thought it was because of an update.

I wanted to get my Mach in for service before my 3 years was up. They tested the 12v and said it was bad and replaced it under warranty.

When I got mine brand new the lock touch sensitive thing on the outside would take 2-4 touches. I don’t lock the door that way anymore. That thing is trash.
have it tested-------------any mechanic or battery shop will do it----------we do it free @ Redy Battery Co. It's a 12 volt agm lead acid battery not black magic---no voodoo need!
Aren’t there different ways to test them tho? When I had an Escape the dealer tested the 12v with their handheld thing and it showed pass (they took a picture) then tried another way of testing or “stress testing” it and that’s when it came back failed.

City just over 4 years, a few issues then replaced myself. Dealer kept saying it was fine.
A lot of things like BlueCruise worked way better afterwards (no camera faults now).
