This is the first time since getting my MME in June that I've seen this. I have my charging scheduled for 10pm, so I popped open the app just to check that charging started okay and I saw this message for the first time.

I drive my MME nearly every day. I was under the impression that this helped keep the 12v battery in good shape, so I'm curious why I'm seeing this now for the first time.

Anyone else see this? Thanks!

Did you just get the 1.7.1 update?

Otherwise I'd guess it has to do with colder temps.

This is normal function.
However, IF your LVB isn't 100% healthy, then the HVB will need to top it off more often than normal. Just keep an eye on it. Checking voltage while off and while running is a good way to avoid being stranded someday.

Summer heat kills 12v batteries but we don't find out about it until the winter.

Yes, it will keep the 12v battery topped up as needed. This is much better than the alternative. Just ask any of the early adopters that had dead 12v batteries when this didn’t happen.

I'm not claiming that it's not charging the 12v battery... but the FordPass app, charging section specifically, is absolutely dog ?

Sometimes is tells me I have over 2000 miles in range. Other times it tells me I'm charged to 100% up top and 90% down below. It's just wildly inaccurate. Every day it tells me that my charge didn't start on time when it's scheduled for 12am, but it's still only 7pm.

But just maybe it is charging your 12v battery.

I don't believe I have, but I'll check it out in the morning. Thank you!

I'm not certain I will be able to trust the 12v to stay charged. I bought a noco genius1 12v charger for the agm just in case. I have a portable 500w 450wh lithium generator that came with my solar kit so if the 12v has an issue on the road I'll have both of those in the car to try and get me going again.

What happens if you have all that equipment in your car and the 12V dies? How do you get it out?

you just need to use someone else's 12v to power up the frunk opening.

Yes, understand that, but then carrying that equipment is pointless, Maybe just the jumpstarter is good to have once you free it from the car with someone else's battery
