Anyone drive a Dodge Charger EV yet? Looks fun.

Haven’t seen or driven one but like the look. Read one bad review and several good ones. The bad review focused on (silly) fake engine noise, overuse of cheap plastics, too much weight and too much money. I’d be concerned with the latter two but would love a test drive. I think the biggest issue will be the high price point which could suppress sales, especially when the tax credit goes away.

I went and test drove one just now. Fully optioned “Scat Pack.” It’s a beautiful car with a well designed and appointed interior. Heated back seats. Heated AND ventilated front seats. Better adjustment. More comfortable than my GTPE front seats. Even a real HUD. I was ready to buy it. But then I drove it. Granted it’s 30° F out and it was only at 60% charge, but it was less fun to drive than my 2022 GT-PE. They may quote another 200HP more than my GTPE, but it felt lethargic and that’s with me driving around needing a new HVBJB for a couple weeks. If that’s the Scat Pack (for $85K) I’d hate to drive the R/T.

I am happy to report I was able to find the setting to turn off the fake engine noise.

Perhaps the Dodge Hornet will now have a buddy to hangout in the vacant overflow parking lots. Heard that SUV has a Days of Supply of almost 1.5years! Whoa!

Stellantis could've picked the Alfa brand to electrify one of their models. A Giulia EV would be a good candidate.
Alfa’s are crap, just like Fiat’s. Most Italian cars suck at electronics unfortunately?

Probably because our cars are so torque heavy, you get that huge rush of acceleration at 30 mph.

I’d guess that car would beat us in the 1/4 mile but most of the gains would be at higher speeds.

For whatever reason the pic you took at that angle is the best looking pic I’ve seen of the car.

It’s a really good looking car in person.

I saw it at the local auto show, and it actually is a really good looking car in person. The interior looks nice also.

I briefly cross-shopped this before going with my 2024 MME Rally - The Charger has a lovely design. In person, this car has some serious presence, and the interior was really quite nice. I didn't drive it, I just sat in it and soaked up the ambiance ;-) For me, it came down to the offensive price tag and my lack of faith in Stellantis' commitment to their EV buyers. It's a much-maligned car, but it is just about the only sports coupe in the EV world at the moment (even if it is Chevy Suburban scale in terms of footprint)...

I haven’t driven it yet but I, too, love the style and I’d put up with a lot of downside to get a real EV coupe.

I’m driving my Mach-E for the next four years and I’m hoping that by the time I’m ready for my “retirement car” that there are more coupes out there.

Chrysler makes one of the best looking cars on the road, only problem is, it’s a Chrysler !
I bought a new Chrysler back in 79, ignition failed, exhaust fell off and the rear end went bad, all under warranty and they refused to fix anything on that POS!

I spit on you Chrysler!!

I am aware that EV pundits (e.g Kyle) do not like it, since they are comparing it to the best current EVs and using EV metrics, BUT I would enjoy test-driving one, gotta say. I like the look of it. Can just turn off the Borla exhaust noise. That's why I thought this review felt closer to useful for me.

Yes, it is too expensive, and almost certainly it would be a disaster getting something fixed at the Dealership Service Center, and in the first few years there will be many glitches, I predict, but still, glad it is out there (likely make our experiences at Ford Service Centers a dream in comparison, lol, and happy I have my Mach-e).

Looks cute but I do not trust the quality of any Chrysler product

My biggest problem with Chryslers was, my Dad just loved them and he got free repairs (me). I eventually got him to switch to chevys. When he retired and started snow birding to Florida he got stranded out of state a few times, that’s what finally convinced him.
