Who would do a muscle car test and not include 1/4 mile times. Even if you're not on a track you could use your old Tesla g-meter.

Stellantis "quality" a dealership experience in an EV.....ummmm No thanks!
This is all that needs to be said. It’s still a Sh*tllantis product. QC worse than Ford.

Sure I will test drive one if given a chance. None are on dealer lots that I know of. If it is as underwhelming as a Hemi Charger/Challenger that I test drove a year ago - I might just forget about the second I step out of it.

Perhaps the Dodge Hornet will now have a buddy to hangout in the vacant overflow parking lots. Heard that SUV has a Days of Supply of almost 1.5years! Whoa!

Stellantis could've picked the Alfa brand to electrify one of their models. A Giulia EV would be a good candidate.

I watched a few reviews, and it's a work in progress. The reviewers talked about the fact that these cars are designed to drive like their 1970s counterparts (I am not a big fan of floaty front ends), and they have the transmission and driveshaft tunnel in the EV version.

I'm really souring on Kyle's "reviews", if it is not an exact carbon copy of a Model 3 or Model Y then he doesn't like it and nobody should ever buy it for any reason. His reviews are based almost exclusively on the 0-60 time, whether there are any buttons or not, and the price of the vehicle.

Maybe (and I know this will absolutely SHOCK you to learn), grandma is not really interested in drag-racing grandpa. Also maybe, (another shocker), mom on the way with her kids and their friends to the soccer game don't really give a flip about how "pretty" the giant screen is, and whether there is a start button or not.

Plenty of buyers, plenty of needs, I agree it's nice that someone is attempting an EV in a true muscle car format.
Amen. I've never liked Kyle or his hours long reviews. I also dislike how he's considered an "expert" because he has money and doesn't need a traditional 9-5 which allows him to spend time driving a lot of BEVs. Unless he is designing and building them or has a background in that, he's not an expert.

I'd rather see a review from RJ.

Oh and I do like the look of the Charger but not much else.

Driveshaft tunnel in an ev, I’m out.
BMW i4 and the MINI SE had one. It reduces space BUT the huge positive is they shared parts with the ICE vehicles and you rarely heard problems with anything except the HV battery or electric drivetrain. Everything else just worked because it was well tested.

I think many EVs have been rushed to market and the unreliability has contributed to poor resale. I tell folks to avoid 21 ID.4s and 21 Mach-Es. I don't care if folks here have reliable problem free ones... just run away. Same with early Hummer EVs, Lyriq Debut Editions, first year Broncos, etc.

What you are saying would make sense except this is a new model so nothing is tried and tested

We had a gas Charger as a rental for a week last summer. It was a blast to drive if not a little bit behind software wise but the Bluetooth worked well enough. The car as an EV would be nice if you like a roomy highway cruiser. At $70k they are out of their minds, at $40kish with a credit it would be a great deal.

I’m keeping an eye on my local dealership. When they get one I’m going to go test drive it. Wife says I can’t buy one. But I’m certainly going to go check it out. If I were looking for an ICE, I’d be getting a last call Challenger.

Ou of Spec is aimed at enthusiasts. Like any other reviews channel, gotta filter what's not important to you. Or look for a more balanced channel.
But the price is insane. What is dodge thinking?? Stelantis seems so lost...

I feel muscle cars are muscle cars because of its inherent old-school characteristics.
Old school with 7 electric motors like this one way back in 2020.
Ford Mustang Mach-E Anyone drive a Dodge Charger EV yet? Looks fun. Mach-E-1400-APG-selects-4_1595390532262_1595390540997-2569420487

Old school torque and speed has nothing on EV's. Hope they can figure out how to out do a 302 muscle wise. As soon as they come out with one electric motor per wheel I am back in ;)
