BlueCruise (Hands free as well as hands on mode - don't know if that's technically bluecruise) seems to hug the right lane for me - which is rough in any lane but the right one. I'll have 2-3 times the clearance on the left side vs right side.

This is in a 24 with BC 1.3.

I had a friend drive behind me and he confirmed the right side bias, so it's not just a perspective issue from the drivers seat.

I saw a few posts about this, but not a ton - curious if others have it also. I don't really feel comfortable using it in any lane but the rightmost, and that stinks on some of our constant right lane exit highways locally.

Yeah, that's what blue cruise does. No idea why. It drives so close to the right line that I'd expect the lane holding to kick in if I were driving manually.

I, the driver, am in the center of the lane.

I've got 1.0 still, I was hoping 1.3 would improve that. Guess not.

It does seem weird, seems like centering the car in the lake a bit more would have been an easy adjustment to make years ago...

Yes. I love that it keeps you to the right and away from other traffic. It’s generally safer.

lane centering without bluecruise is far too close to the centre line for comfort often times.

1.0 had the right bias.
1.4 (truck) centered the vehicle.

1.3 in my Mach-E is centered similar to the truck.

So I wouldn't consider it normal for a 2024 to bias either direction very much.
I wonder if a recalibration might correct for it?

I don’t like Blue cruise and after trying it twice will never use it again. Mine seemed to pull to the left.

My 1.3 update immediately corrected the right-side bias. Both my wife and I noticed it right away. The vehicle is well centered now when BC is active, and I love the gentle drift to the left when passing a truck on the highway.

I have 1.0 and there is not a right side bias. When I set cruise I allow the car to slide right and get its reference and then it centers itself. If I try to prevent it from finding its reference it will continue to try and move right

Probably just me, but I always felt it was a bias to the left. Maybe it’s just that old coots are inclined to puttering along on the right.

I used BC very rarely and never for an extended period of time because it rode uncomfortably to close to the center line. In-fact, I mostly kept lane centering off so it would just maintain the set speed and give me basic adaptive cruise. I'd do the steering. With Lane centering on it would put the circle around the car icon (Non BC Roads) and keep asking you to touch the wheel but you had to put so much force on it that it would trigger a tug o war with the lane centering and became aggravating to use.

I feel that my BC hugs the left lane.
I really wish it didn't slide to the left when passing a semi. I normally run the Hwy in the middle lane @ 76mph and it never fails when this happen, I am getting passed on the left by some huge F250 and my BC pushes me closer to the F250. Just keep me in the middle of MY lane.

mine always seemed to put the driver in the middle of the lane, but was better when I got 1.3.

Sliding over for a semi can be turned off. At least in my car I did. Can’t remember what the option is called.
