Hi,
Here's a tl;dr for those that want the problem without the story. I'm unable to set a target charge at home ... it does not show my home as a possible location despite having charged here many times.

Longer story: I got the 24 Premium AWD in November. As a car it has been great! As a computer on wheels, eh! Two weeks ago the car "stopped talking". No WiFi, no cell. Ford Pass app could not do anything (unlock, climate, etc), nor could it report accurate data. In the car I noted the Wifi refresh was always empty, didn't show my site or any other in the area.

I'm a software engineer, and I recognize that the radio stack has failed. Reboot! Unfortunately, that didn't help.

I'm a software engineer that dabbles in hardware, so power cycle it is! THAT brought the car back to communicating. PaaK, charging info, everything is working as it should, EXCEPT as reported my home is never listed as a charging location.

I also charge at work, and that location popped up right after the first charge there. It is the only location that shows, and if I press Add I get the message that I have to charge somewhere for it to show.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Do you have cellular service where your home is? If not, that's likely your issue.

When you are home, in FordPass, where does it show your car?

Hi Rck,
Thanks! Cell service is very good here, but you did make it clear that I forgot to mention that before the reset, this was not a problem at all, I had both home and work locations.

Edit to answer: Ford Pass App does show the car directly in my driveway.

I hadn't thought to look at my charge history ... It clearly shows several charge sessions at my address. If only it'd let me put a target on it, lol

I recently purchased a used 2021 and I have a similar problem.
I installed a Grizzl-e charger at home and it was recognized after the first charge. I can set a charge target.
When I visit my son's house, I use the mobile charger. I checked my history and it shows charge sessions at his address. On 1/25/2025, it charged to 100%. The app does not show this address as an option to select a target charge.
I checked the app version as 5.11 with no updates available on the app store. I'm not sure what else to try.

Forget the app. Attempt to do it in the vehicle.

Can try a FordPass reset, it will require you to set a lot of things up again

Is the former home location still showing? If so delete it in the car, charge again, and set it up. I've had this happen a couple of times over the past 4 years and deleting my former home location always resolved the prob

The vehicle shows more charging locations than are shown in the app. In-vehicle shows an additional charging location that I used at work last week.
In-vehicle does not show a charging location where I've used the mobile charger, even though the location is recorded in the charging history. More of a curiosity than a problem. I just monitor the charge when I'm using the mobile charger and stop charging with the app when it hits the goal.
Thanks for the suggestions,
John

I just went through all of that to arrive here, actually. I reset the car and the app ... part of the LAST round of troubleshooting, lol

I'm having trouble with the term "former home location" ... I have not moved. Showing where? It does not show in target charging, does show in Google Maps.

This is interesting. ATM I am also using the mobile charger (home charger in planning stages). I was also using the mobile charger before, when I could set a target for home. I did not that FordPass recently was updated, but that would not explain to me why the car itself doesn't offer the location.

Do not try to fix this through FordPass. In your car, press the charge app. Go to saved locations. Delete the one for home or your address or anything else associated with your home. Shut the car down and walk away for a few minutes. Come back, plug the car in and charge it for 5 to 10 minutes. Unplug the car. Go back into the car put it in accessory mode or full on. Launch the charge so. Find your most recent charge location, edit it and designate it as home. Then do the rest of the set up (preferred times, max charge etc).

The car (not Fordpass) does not show the location at all in anything related to charging.

FordPass, in Charge History, shows each and every session. Neither the car nor FordPass show it anywhere else I can find (unless we talk navigation)

At the risk of asking the absurd … reboot sync. After that I’d consider posting in the FDRS thread (the look up stuff one) asking if someone will pull your fault codes via vin lookup.

Then I’d very carefully think about reset on the car or departing the 12v for awhile. I’ve done the former once and the latter twice.

Or take it to the dealer. :(
