If you just have the FOB in your pocket, does the car unlock? I have 2 BEVs now that do that every time. One is from 2015.

Surprised no one mention the frunk has a drain. A little ice and little post hockey/hike/etc.... beverage.

It should. My 2015 fusion energi titanium does that. Well, unlocks as soon as you touch the handle. Also locks with a handle touch when leaving.

Sadly both. The car doesn't always recognize the phone as a key. Any function that would otherwise be available for a FOB, is not available.
We might be starting up a new thread here in a few month for "Best ways to acquire a 2nd fob".

Try it using a known quality source (like audio from your phone). Satellite stations can be quite lossy (if it is truly a satellite station you're listening to as the latest version of SXM (360L) will prioritize streaming over satellite if it can).
"Lossy" is putting it mildly for Satellite radio. My experience has been rather sub-par and I think would not do the B&O system justice for sure.

Will the phone still unlock the car if the Ford app has been completely closed? (i.e., swiped up).
I would assume it runs in the background upon phone startup, unless disabled. I think the proximity detection for doors/liftgate works off of bluetooth connection, IIRC. Which means it has to have an active connection. Not entirely sure if that has to mean the app being open, or just it's bluetooth component though. Maybe just the latter.

the best part of the frunk is anything muddy wet stinks. Does not get in the cabin of the car. Simple leaving work and pour down rain shoes could be soaked switch shoes or shirt and put in front. The drain plug is really a plus. I agree with you jamie the rest goes in the back.
I have never used my Frunk on my Tesla Model 3. However with the water plug on the MME that may change. However I don’t think you will ever be using it for your groceries unless your trunk is filled. Just my two cents.

Very concerning about the phone as key connection. If I'm in a parking lot, with the alarm going off and no key connection, I might just leave the car and walk home. Do we know if ford gets feedback in real time or do we have to report bugs? I agree that needs tinkering, or at the very least giving people another fob until they sort it out. Who cares how nice the car is if 10% of the time you're stuck waiting for a connection with the alarm going off???

Also, I think we all need to agree that the frunk is novelty, like a bobblehead Darren Palmer on the dash. You don't need it to drive and many cars of the future won't even have it. If it was a serious differentiator, Ford wouldn't have introduced it to the world filled with 20 pounds of shrimp. Being disappointed by the lack of automation around the frunk is like being disappointed that you can't adjust the angle of the spoiler, IMHO. I'm okay with it being somewhat difficult to open because I'd rather not have it fly open while I'm driving because I accidentally pushed the button on the fob or my passenger activated it from the screen.
Wait, I can’t adjust the angle of the spoiler? WTF.
