2024 Mach-E Premium (Former Tesla Model Y Owner)
Hi. New to the forum and this amazing car. I have a 2024 Mach-E Premium and I'm loving this vehicle. However, coming from a Model Y, I have a few questions and would like some support and hear from you. First, I'm use to finding a variety of aftermarket accessories for the Model Y. I've not found many offerings from my web searches. Any recommendations? Second, the primary reasons I purchased a Tesla was because of the charging network and sentry mode. Now, that the Mach-E can use the Tesla charging network (if I need/chose to use it), I'm not as concerned, but the sentry mode is a big loss. As an alternative, is it worth installing front and rear dashcam OR do you thing Ford will activate a sentry mode with future a Sync update leveraging the existing 5 cameras? Finally, anyone have any pics of their radar detector setup? I'm not comfortable with popping off the panels to hide the cable that goes into the usb in front of the phone charging plate. Right now, I have the cable following the seam down the right side of the screen (not bad at the moment) but would like a cleaner look. Any advice on any and/or all is appreciated.

There are a few threads I have seen over the past few years from people who have installed dashcams. You can integrate one into the rearview mirror assembly. Do a search on the forum, or maybe someone who has done it will respond. I know @DevSecOps did it a few years ago, but he sold his MME and bought a Rivian. Search for his threads and maybe you can find it.

As far as accessories go, what are you looking for? I replaced my front and rear sway bars, installed a tow bar/hitch, replaced the rearview mirrors with Suma mirrors and added a subwoofer. What do you want to do? There are many other accessories I have seen people add that I have not added.

Thanks. This is helpful. I will check out posts from @DevSecOps. As it relates to accessories, I was looking to start with more internal accessories. For example, storage organization, passenger wireless charging solution, maybe door panel trash receptacles, stuff like that.

I did and the process is similar as the radar detector install located here:

https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...am-and-radar-detector.5542/page-5#post-262345

And here's some accessories if you are looking for some. The links are a bit outdated but you could likely search for those items, if interested or look through that thread for other people posting their accessories.

My car has an IR blocking windshield, not sure if the Premium has it as well, but if so you have to mount really high in the black zone to get good front horn signal. It's a pretty short mounting area and you may not get to fully level the detector.

I'll get a pic for you later, but I used a visor clip for my r7 on the headliner to the left of the mirror. For power I used three things, a Dongar adapter that gives you a USB port behind the mirror trim, a USB splitter (optional extra that's not needed for just radar, but I wanted the extra socket for a future dash cam), and a USB to rj11 cord to power the detector.

Other things...
I got a 16" rear wiper blade, it will get you a higher wipe to help with rear dash cam placement;
If you have weather mats and plan to lay the seats down I bought these seat back mats;
I bought these jack pucks to mount permanently to help save the battery rails from unknowing shops;
I bought a bumper guard to save my paint when my pup is hopping in and out, it stays attached with Velcro and folds in neatly;
I plan to do mud guards soon;
Haven't bought them yet, but here's a some extra storage.
BestEVmod has other accessories as well.

There is no video recording in the Mach E. A “sentry mode” would require new hardware. The side cameras are not at good angles for sentry, unless you can identify people by their ankles ;).

For interior accessories, as well as a number of external mods, AOSK on Amazon is great. They are good stuff and excellent customer service. (They also go by BestEvMod.) They also often have giveaways and discounts that the post here. (FWIW, while I have a number of their products, I am not associated with them in any way.)

If you'd like a dash cam that has an OEM look, FitCamX has a various options, though they don't provide a sentry mode per se. But @DevSecOps had a setup that provided sentry mode like functionality (albeit it wasn't integrated into the center console IIRC). (Good to hear from you, Todd!)

I put a dash cam in using a Y cable that goes into the rear mirror area. Very clean installation. I also put a Console Vault in the console to lock away valuables.

Don’t run the wire to the usb port. Use this to have a usb port near the mirror.

For accessories look for EV-Vida, AOSK, and BSKT
Yup, I installed the same Dongar adapter to power my dash cam. It was pretty easy to install (watch YouTube videos) and works perfectly. It only provides power when the vehicle is on, so it will not allow me to use the “parking mode” on my dash cam, but it was worth it for the simplicity. Plus, it’s not a Tesla, so there’s way less chance of someone maliciously damaging your Mach-E.
