My question is, have others from Northern Virginia driven their Mach Es to Snowshoe, WV, and if so, what route did you take? I have looked at ABRP in conjunction with Plug Share and the Tesla website. There are a few alternative routes, just wondering if anyone with experience driving to Snowshoe from this area with the MME has thoughts on good or bad routes. Of course, there is also the issue of charging when you get there but I know there are J1772s in a few places up there. Another alternative is, take the ICE car ... Thanks.

I stared for what felt like hours at Plugshare, ARBP, etc. It's just really hard there - it's a charging desert. If you have an ICE vehicle, take it.

Funny enough, last time I was up at Timberline, there was a Bolt with VA plates in the lot. So, I guess you can make it work (though for all I know they had a cabin in the area). I just don't think it's worth the effort.

I've been to this part of VA and there are some options along Interstate 81. IMO I would drive south to the Tesla in Lewisburg and charge to AT LEAST 85% and then return back to the Tesla, so Northern VA > Lewisburg > Snowshoe > Lewisburg > Northern VA. I have ABRP premium and a 85% charge should allow you to return to the Tesla charger with 15% left, which is a decent margin of range. Unfortunately there isn't much there in charging, so ICE might be significantly faster by <3 hours

I agree Jeff. It is a charging desert. I probably will take the ICE Mazda.

Canaan Valley state park and Blackwater Falls have L2 chargers. They were recently updated. Maybe the Bolt driver used the chargers at CV. I took the MME to Blackwater Falls in October and used a L2 there. A trip to the CV/Blackwater Falls area is doable with the MME.

Off topic PS, I’m very pleased with the center speaker I bought from you.

I agree the I81 corridor in VA has a lot of options. I did take the Lewisburg route home from Snowshoe a number of years ago. I was leaving in the midst of a pretty good snow storm and figured I might have an easier time crossing the mountains back to VA farther south than my usual route across the Monongahela National Forest and up valleys past Seneca Rocks. It worked out, but Lewisburg is really a long way around. But I appreciate the suggestion, thanks. The ICE car is probably the ticket for this trip.

Glad to hear it. I have really been impressed with the difference in sound too. I wasn't expecting the mid level bass improvement.

Enjoy the ski trip!
