Why does the Trip Info NOT keep the mi/kWh for either Trip 1 or Trip 2 when you turn on the vehicle?????

When I turn-on the Mach-E (2021 Job 1) the Trip Info (both Trip 1 and Trip 2) do not show the mi/kWh until after I drive approximately 1.5 mile. I can understand that when we are talking about the current trip, but, NOT for the cumulative trip info.

Attached are two photos showing Trip 1 and Trip values of 0 mi/kWh when the distance traveled is 136.4 mi and the duration is 6:02:27.

I know I'll get slammed for this but my 2018 Chevy Bolt was able to give instantaneous power usage and regen values but the Mustang can only do averages and only then after traveling for more than a mile.

Odd. I’m pretty certain that my trip 1 and trip 2 data are always there. I don’t check on it very often anymore but when I do it’s at the end of my driveway which is a whopping 60 feet long. Trip 1 on my car hasn’t been reset since the car was brand new.

My 23.5 premium also reverts to zero when the vehicle is switched off. Would be nice to keep it going for a running tally.

This is a bug. Sometimes my Trip 1 and Trip 2 are zero during a trip, vehicle on. Sometimes they are not. Both Mach-E and Lightning. I reported it like 2 years ago using Feedback, and they still haven't fixed it.

This is when I go to charge the car just before bed. I really don't understand why I have to drive the car to have that information. It makes no sense to have to drive the car to find what the full trip kWhr/mi value is

This is one of the things that I have sent feedback on. It does the same thing for me going to zero. It is like it’s only calculating the current efficiency. And not saving the history. I guess you would have to do something like drive one part of the trip at one kind of efficiency and then drive another part at a different efficiency. Like more aggressive driving or turn on more heaters or something so that you could tell if it’s actually accumulating or if it’s just displaying current. Obviously what it should be doing is the overall efficiency for the whole trip until you reset it.

I encourage everybody to report this through the feedback menu. And just to be clear the mileage., Time, and energy all seem to be accumulating properly. It’s just the. Kilowatt hour that gets reset.

THIS, I find as one of the many things I miss about my 22Bolt EV!
It gave you every bit of current and ongoing usage stats right on the dash, anywhere you want to see it at.
Although I do like the Mach E I do find it the most user unfriendly car I have ever driven.

What your actual average is? How about 4 kinda almost good enough guesses? Trip1, Trip2, lifetime, and range estimate on the IPC!

would you like to plan a trip based on your range using the app that does control your car? No! No you can’t, unless you jump through these three flaming hoops and miss the flaming bag of dog crap. Then forever your MME will think you are headed to that place and will start telling you how to drive there at random. (I used to tell my wife it was my girlfriends house, she wasn’t amused)
