Costco won't sell me the tires I want.

At Costco, I asked for a quote on 4 Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires for my GT-PE. Was told that Costco won't sell me these tires because the speed rating the GT-PE requirement is greater than the CrossClimate 2's.
If this is true? If so, are there any safety or wear issues with using a tire that doesn't match Ford's speed rating requirements? The CrossClimate 2 has a V speed rating.
Lastly, this is my Wife's car, and she drives like a Grandma.

Been posted before. Costco will only sell tires that meet, or exceed, the requirements. Nothing you say can change their minds, it is a corporate policy.

I figured as much. And not that loyal to Costco.
But what is the speed rating for the GT-PE? The tires on the car have a "103 Y" after the size. Are any of these numbers/letter the speed rating?

103 is the load rating Y is the speed rating. Y is one of the highest speed ratings and is almost 40 mph more than V

I do not know, but that doesn't matter when the OP is trying to buy tires for the GT PE, model with the highest speed rating .

235/55R19 Michelin CrossClimate2 All-Season Performance Tires. This is what Ford lists as the OEM tire for the Rally.

Kinda crazy because the top speed of the GT is only 124 MPH so U rated would be fine. Y rated 186 MPH is overkill but their corporate policy is inflexible.

My GT has 20“ wheels, don’t go buying 19” tires for your GT.
