This looks like a buyer's remorse vehicle.

Exactly my thought. Like the EV version of the Isuzu P'up from the mid-80s. Back when there were non-moster truck sizes. It's virtually the same size as the '84 Toyota pickup. And with the backing of Bezos It could well have staying power. If you look at the specs of compact cars from the 80's they all seem tiny compared to the behemoths on the road these days.
Sure. It’s called a base model. No car company wants to sell you one which is why you rarely find one new on a dealer lot. This is not a new idea. Also no dealer wants to sell you one for the same reason.
Stripped down bare bones vehicles like this wouldn’t survive a surge of Chinese EVs either….. because the Chinese EVs are loaded for the same price as a regular cab pickup with crank windows.First off, love my MME and my Acura ZDX. However, I can see myself owning one of these. Utility, bare bones, plug and play customization, …
AND AMERICAN MADE!!!
the North American market is not going to survive the surge of WAY cheaper Chinese EVs flooding the international market if we continue on the current trajectory. We are going to continue paying a lot more for substandard vehicles IMHO because our brands are more focused on silly bells and whistles (MME got most of it right, but have production quality issues; ZDX is a disappointment in all aspects other than premium ride quality).
Time to go back basics with EVs. Not everyone can afford 50k (MME) or 70k (ZDX) cars.
