Hello Forum!

This may be a reach, but does anyone have experience with both of these front lit ponies? I am trying to determine if there's a discernable quality/illumination difference between the two. Or, as I suspect, are they both from the same manufacturer and just sold separately by these two on-line retailers? I remember both had V1 versions that had issues and now both have "improved" V2 versions, which leads me to believe this may be the case. The installation process seems to be the same for both. Price point is a slight concern, but I'm more interested in quality as I don't want to have to do this again if the one I install fails.

Also, is there a 3rd (or 4th) option to these two? I can only find the BSKT and EV-Vida offerings.

Here are the links:

I'll just comment I've only installed the BSKT front (and rear) ponies for people and so far no issues with any of them.

I have one BSKT front illuminated pony left which is going in a members car sometime in the next month or so when we can find time to get together. Installed the rear one last month but with everything else we did, ran out of time for the front. Don't think I want to order and EV-Vida one just to compare them but it is a fun thought. ?

I don’t have either but BSKT seems sketchy to me, the ads and online presence seems off, and when you look them up online google says they are permanently closed and their FB page hasn’t posted in awhile. Simon runs the ev-vida so trust him way more and if you are southern CA he helps with install.

BSKT is not sketchy. However the US is not their market. They have been selling Mach-E parts since the Mach-E came out but only barely a year in US. Their main market is China and Europe. Miguel used to run sales here like Simon does for EV-Vida but he no longer can do this because of personal reasons. Bruce is having to do it all now and that is a lot of work. I've been working with them and purchasing parts for the last couple years (before they even had a presence here). The only issues I've had is the shipping every once and awhile. I've had items held up in customs (steering wheels mainly) but have always gotten through it. Simon over at EV-Vida is also a great guy to deal with. I have installed several of his ambient lighting systems in Mach-E's and when I've had issues, he has been great to deal with.

I installed the BSKT front and back. They seem to be good quality. The front went on pretty easy, but you have to take the Frunk apart. But that was no problem.

The back is a little more involved if you decide you need the backup light to work. I didn't like the idea of temporarily removing the gasket to run the wire. I was afraid doing that would cause a future leak with the hatch back. So I decided not to run that wire that needs to connect someplace under the car. But even without the backup light working, the pony itself seems to be high quality and it works great.

I have no experience with the other company.

I think I'm going to get the front pony from BSKT. They have an insanely good sale right now for some of their products, the front pony being one of them. The only problem is I can't get a hold of the new show runner Bruce. Between the earthquake and Miguel leaving, I'm sure it's a madhouse over there. And, I've seen many posts about shipping delays, even preceding the current events. So I can imagine it's even worse now. Well, hopefully he responds soon.

The rear pony I'm getting from EV-Vida for sure. Really don't like the goofy animation on the BSKT one.

I wouldn't if you are in the US, BSKT is in Hong Kong and they have suspended shipments to the US due to the tariffs. I don't expect my order from BSKT to arrive, the UPS label was made 3/15 and every time I've asked the answer has been 'it will ship next Monday'...

i installed numerous items from EV-VIDA, including front and rear Ponies, also illuminated GT logo - no issues. I'm in NorCal so I was lucky that Simon installed all of current illuminated logos.

BSKT has custom hoods that EV-VIDA does not sale, but I cannot justify yet this mod.

Yeah, I totally get your concern. Lots of strikes here - new management, earthquake, tariffs. However, the deal was just too good to pass up. Things working in my favor are: not in a hurry (so if it's months out, not a big deal) and: I can always call my credit card service and request a reimbursement due to the item never being processed (which I have done in the past). Obviously, I'll keep monitoring the situation and If nothing's happened in 90-days I'll reach back out to Bruce (or whoever's in charge at the time) or call my credit card service and cancel.

As Mark mentioned above, until recently, everything's been pretty above board with these guys. But I'm definitely aware things change. So we'll see. But thanks for the advice.

Yeah, Simon's great. I've interacted with him numerous times. He's in S.D. and I'm in L.A. so just a light jaunt down the 405 :p. Once the front pony is installed, I'll reach out to him for the rear. I like their version better than the BSKT one - less animation - just hope it's the same quality as BSKT's.

As of yet I have not had any issues with parts I have coming from China. Last week I had custom LED emblems shipped from Hong Kong and it took 4 days to get to Alaska went through customs and USPS has them and will be delivered Friday. I also had a center steering wheel pad shipped Monday and so far it’s on track to be here end of next week.
