Just bought my MME first of this year. Love love love it ?. I keep my ‘24 pony in the garage. First time EV owner. I have several indoor/outdoor cats. I walked into my garage and watched one of them squeeze out of the underside of the car by the back tire! Then later I saw one of the others do the same thing! What the ?!?! Now when I leave the house I’m scared one of them will be in the car as I drive away! I love my cats and I know the stories of cats in ICE vehicles in the cold, etc., but this really surprised me. Have any of you had this happen?

Not with my Mach E, but a long time ago when I lived on a farm, I had a cat take a ride sitting on top of my my gas tank. It was a 30 mile commute from home to work on highway 101 near San Luis Obispo. When I arrived and got out of the car, I heard the cat crying. I was able to get it out from under the car, and it was uninjured.

I don't know why the cat didn't run for the hills when I started the car in the morning, because it was a 302 with dual exhaust and it was LOUD. After it happened, I got into the habit of banging on the rear bumper (which was steel) before getting in to start it up.

Since the Mach E is very quiet compared to an ICE car, it might be a good idea to "kick the tires" before you pull out of the garage, just to be safe.

There are lots of gaps at the rear of the car that I would think is a good hiding spot.

Yes! We have a cat who found a comfortable hiding place in the back of my wife's MachE. I know because one day the cat forgot to pull up his tail. So I walk behind the car and I see a cat tail just hanging from the rear of the car.

I am not worried about hurting the cat. Everytime I approach the car, the cat senses me and jumps away from the car. I am sure when I close the door or put the car in reverse, the noises and sounds will startle the cat and make it leave the car before I start driving.

And I appreciate the free rodent control services!

.... free rodent control services!
I know from experience that having a cat in your household is not free!

kinda wish my dogs were cat friendly, as I've found evidence of rodent visitation in my garage since last year. Dogs don't keep mice away.....

My sheltie loves to catch mice in the woods near us, even while on a leash. Several breeds of dogs were specifically bred for rodent control.

you would think the sound of the door opening would be enough to run them off. Fortunately our cats are all indoor only and garage door is closed all the time. So probably only slim chance of a cat in a public parking space moving in.
