Ford put tow hitch on the Mach E and it can be seen here.

What is the user error you refer to on bike racks? I've never used one on a hitch mount.
This is my question also. I assume it would be overloading the mount.

I have no intent of towing but I have thought about installing a Stealth hitch on my GT so I can carry a bicycle or two. I know that the back of a travel trailer is about the worst place to put a bike rack because of the dynamic environment but I haven't seen any warnings about car-mounted receivers assuming you keep within the loading requirements. I put a Curt receiver on a 2008 Prius and it has a weight limit consistent with a 2-bike rack (1-1/4 inch receiver, 200 pound tongue weight). I wouldn't put a 4-bike rack there but I haven't seen a major brand (e.g., Thule) 4-bike rack with a 1-1/4 inch receiver.

I had U-Haul install a 2in receiver hitch a few years ago, no wiring. Works great, I put a metal basket on back, a 4 bike rack, and will zip my neighbors utility trailer over to the yard waste facility. The biggest issue with bikes is them falling off, coming loose, banging I would say. Also for the people who start loading e-Bikes they might hit weight issues.

The redesign happened for 2023.5+ models.
Lee, sorry for commenting on an older thread, but I have a question. I have a 2023 ‐ so have the overkill cooling design - would that work in my favor for thermal mitigation while towing heavier loads and/or longer distances vs. a 2023.5+ model? In theory? Or are there other factors that make that idea moot and the thermal load would be the same pre and post 2025+ models. Thanks.

The powertrain cooling capacity (heat sink to radiator) would be the same. Keep weight around 2000 pounds or less, and keep speed 60 MPH or less going up hills or mountains to avoid overheating.

This Hitch can tow a load of 1,5 metric tons (with breaks) and 750 kg trailer without breaks or a hitch load of 75kg for bikes. Not limiting topspeeds.

In Germany you are limited to 100 km/h towing, we don't have limits like that in the US so it's important to mention speed because people can and do tow at 140 km/h here. Which would overheat systems designed for towing 100 km/h or less. This is one of the reasons why Ford does not allow the Mach-E to tow in the USA.

Thats true. 100km/h but not lower I forgot to mention that. My apologies. The speed is limited by the trailer. But 100kmph is topspeed. Older trailers allow a topspeed for 80kmph only.

It’s a European thing.
Interesting as it appears the EU has additional requirements such ss hydraulic shocks on trailer, ABS on tow vehicle, trailer tires(tyres) 6 years of age or younger. Owner (forums) reports indicate most trailers move at 90km/hr on Autobahn. Speed limit issue would be the biggest hurdle in the USA.

Thermal limitation will be dependent on the sustained amount of power going thru the drivetrain in/out of the battery. Since the system is designed to handle sustained 100 kW during charging, my best guess is that the system should be able to handle between 50kw-100kw loads .

I have hauled pretty heavy loads up and down pretty steep mountains a couple times. Not at high speed, but sustained load/regen 50-75kw. I kept a close eye on several temp sensors (motors, inverters, and battery), and the actual load/regen with CarScanner displayed on my phone. Cooling system kept up no problem.
