Are people really seeing 280 miles of max range with their Mach-E GT 2024?

Dumb question but BOTH my “my trips” always reset after every drive. One of them I could understand and even might like (so that for THIS trip I got THIS Mileage) but one of them I would like to have a consolidated number of “all my trips” (or maybe all the trips for a season or road trip or month etc etc). Do I have a setting misset somewhere that zeros them Both out?

It also depends on how you accelerate/decelerate. I've gotten 4.4 mi/KWh in town and also gotten <2 mi/KWh in town when having fun (I'm always in Unbridled). On my relatively short commute to my former office, the combined in-town and on-highway efficiency was between 2.4 and 3.7. My efficiency was almost always worse going to the office than coming home. There were a few times where going home was worse because I was having fun with the car. ??
the one downsided of the GT, it's just asking to be pointed and squirted!! :)

Or to be late-braked into a corner, trail-braked into the transition to the apex, rolled through the apex, then throttle-squeezed from the exit of the apex out. ??

I have a 2023 GT PE extended range battery. Live in south GA. Drive mainly Hwy95 at 76 to 78 mph. I get 260 miles consistently for the last two years. It drops some in the dead of winter(3 weeks) and some in the middle of summer, August with 100 deg temps.
All in all, does everything I wanted in a commuter car. It a tool that is fast. Love it.

My advice on the Guess-O-Meter: Ignore it. I rely on the fuel gauge to know that I'm getting close to needing a charge on most days. On the very rare occasion that I am on a road trip, I have already used ABRP, PlugShare, and a few other apps to sort out where and when I'm stopping to DCFC. ??
Agree to the point I wish we could remove it and put some other piece of data on the IPC. When you do road trip, one should know that the best plans don't survive contact with the real world and interpreting the GOM will be required.

I find the GOM very accurate, and very helpful on a road trip. If I set out on a road trip and my charger is 180 miles away, and my GOM says 190 miles I feel fine. Then as I drive I keep an eye on both numbers, if they get closer I adjust my plan, if they get further (which they almost always do) I am not concerned, and will even skip a charger and go to the next one.

This GOM is better than the Nissan Leaf I owned, and my Bolt, and honestly when used with Nav seems more accurate than any other GOM I have seen.

Driving at 75 mph on the Ohio Turnpike in my '24 MME GT ER at 50-70 deg F in sunny weather with no significant winds I get right around 2.3-2.4 miles/kWh. 91 kWh x 2.4 mi/kWh = 218 miles max. If I'm driving at 65 mph that number goes up to 2.7x91=246 mile. Stop and go around town I typically get 3.1-3.4 mi/kWh depending upon my driving (I keep the car in Unbridled Mode). 3.4x91=309 miles. Of course you never drive from 0-100% so those numbers are just to compare with the EPA rated nominal 280 mile range. While long distance driving I plan a stop every 2.5-3 hours which generally keeps me in the 20-80% SOC range across all conditions.
IMO this is the best answer, and matches my experience. There are a few additions:

1. The GOM is worthless (as others have pointed out), so if that is what is being used to determine range, stop. It isn't accurate. In the old days (2021) Ford used driving history to set the GOM and people complained because they thought the wrong battery was installed. Some here helped them by telling them that yes, indeed, they had the wrong battery. LOL. Now driving history is not really used in any significant way.

2. If you want a good range estimate, use the Ford navigation. It will predict your battery level based on route and weather. It is pretty accurate in my experience. As you get closer to your destination the accuracy improves based on how you have been driving that trip. It is very, very helpful.

3. If you really want to know what is going on, get a OBDII scanner and an app like CarScanner. The data it provides will really help you understand how a BEV works.

Ford seems to update the algorithm for calculating estimated range fairly regularly. The latest version is again behaving in a new way for me. My lowest calculated miles at 100% is now at the end of a charge session. Mine showed 239 at 90% charge this morning, which would be 265 at 100%. Before charging, I was down to 20% and 61 miles of range, which would be 305 at 100%.

Try taking your charge down below 50%, and then do the math on your 100% range.
