I would try to do the
spacers and springs together. Installing rear spacers basically requires you to redo the rear springs and it'll be more expensive

I finally got the springs! I'm currently calling various suspension shops around the area for quotes. Some shops recommend doing an alignment later, letting the car "settle" after some time, while others are fine just doing it immediately after spring installation. Does it matter when I need to do an alignment?

I also didn't buy spacers yet since I have a RWD standard range. I'll probably take a look at ride height after springs are installed to decide. Let me know if this raises any red flags with y'all.
About the alignment, no you don't have to wait but I would drive it around for at least a half hour on some uneven or bumpy roads. That is what I do when I replace my springs on my cars and others. Once we do that, I bring it over to Les Schwab here in town and they align the car. I'm installing rally springs for a member this Monday and already have the appointment for alignment set up for 4:00 pm. Les Schwab allows you to bring the car back within 30 day to have it rechecked for no charge. When I have brought mine back, there was literally no difference.

As far as the spacers, you will need them unless you want the rear of your car to be slightly lower than the front. giwu42 has the same RWD ER you have and that is how his rear end was. I suggested 1/2" spacers which he installed and it brought the rear up slightly higher than the front so gave it the same stance as OEM.

I actually have a Standard Range, not Extended. I know we talked about this before, but just wanted to clarify. Since it's lighter, I probably don't need as thick of a spacer, right? So instead of 1/4" spacers (that raise the car by 1/2"), could 1/8" spacers (that raise by 1/4") work instead?

Or did I get that backwards?

I don't think it'll make that much of a difference in all honesty. The standard range is only 40lb lighter

oh wow it must have been heavier before. For 2023 the SR RWD is 4609lb and the ER RWD is 4646lb

Hmm, I remember seeing this earlier in the thread too. But according to https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North America/US/product/2022/mach-e/pdf/MACH-E-specs-08252022.pdf, the ER is 4,647 lbs. while the SR is 4,318 lbs. That seems like a much bigger difference, or am I misreading this chart by chance?
That chart is from 2022 it looks like. The new SRs have the LFP battery, which is probably heavier than the NCM standard range battery, right? At least, I assume it's heavier.

oh yeah forgot about the battery change. Makes sense LFP is heavier than NMC

Yup, pretty sure my 2022 has a NMC battery.

So knowing that it's lighter, and forgive my newbie suspension knowledge, would I likely need 1/8" spacers?

Probably the 1/2". Looks like there is about ~180lb difference between the AWD and RWD which means the front will be 180lb lighter on your 2022 RWD. The 2023 RWD ER is also about 180lb lighter compared to a AWD ER, and I think the 1/2" makes it very level/good looking

It was not very clear early on but the OP used (2) 1/4” spacers under each rear spring to achieve the rear height he wanted/needed. Total of (4) 1/4” spacers.

Mark mentioned (1) 3/8” spacer per rear spring may work for the NCM SR RWD, assuming I read that correctly.

Oh I totally misread the part about using 2x 1/4" spacers per spring. I interpreted that as just a standard pair, one per side on the rear. Now considering there were 4 total, it makes sense that I might just need one pair of 3/8" spacers.

I actually already purchased one pair of 1/4" spacers, so I might just stick with those instead of exchanging. Hopefully the difference between car raising of 1/2" and 3/4" is negligible.

Since you have a standard range battery, won't be as heavy as the OP's extra range battery and the 1/4" spacer might be enough to level out the car.

My install is planned for May 12th. In the interim I need to fire up my Physics Toolkit app and go record the ride on a bunch of SF streets so I can do before and after comparisons.
Curious to hear if you did the install and your initial thoughts? I also live in SF and deal with the bumpy local roads and highways.
I am thinking about putting the Rally springs on if I can find a decent price now.

Yes we did instaledl them on Monday. Today we drove up to Yosemite and back and gave it a good workout. John is going to do some hard core testing when he gets back home and will give a full review. ?
