Just charged to 100% at the Tesla Supercharger across the street from my house and got 293 miles. I have a 2024 Select with the LFP pack. Range is supposed to be 250 miles but lately I've been getting over that (272, 280 and now 293). I know it's summer and range can be particularly higher when it's the ideal temperature outside and your driving habits play a factor as well but other than that is there anything else that could be contributing to the increased range? Did Ford open up a few more cells during my last update? Did they make it more efficient and increase range? Curious to see if anyone has gotten that kind of range on an LFP pack?

No, there is nothing else that could be contributing to the guess-o-meter.

So you're leaving your vehicle at a Supercharger charging to 100%?

You'll see the first few miles peel off pretty fast.

In addition to the weather, your recent drives must have been either in heavy traffic or otherwise not at higher speeds. Personally, I'm extrapolating low to mid 200s in my extended battery 2024, but my right rear paw is a bit heavy. ??

Welcome to EV living, yes you likely get less range when cold and more when hot. I just pointed out to my wife this morning, she has been using our 260 mile range Bolt EV quite a bit lately, beautiful weather in new england and she is not typically on highwy. The Bolt is showing over 400 miles of range. When she uses the mach-e exclusively she can also get well over 300 miles in our select AWD.

Yes I charge it to 100% every 5-6 days.
For LFP batteries, it's generally recommended to charge to 100%, especially for vehicles like Tesla's where it's recommended for range accuracy and BMS calibration. However, for optimal battery health, avoiding prolonged periods at 100% charge is also advised. A good practice is to charge to 100% periodically, such as weekly or before longer trips, and maintain a lower charge

No. I charge at 4am when it’s .32 kHw and although it will take me over an hour 10-100% I spend less than $23.00 every 5-6 days. This morning I charged 2-100% and spent $23.87. I don’t mind sitting there for that long, it’s gives me the chance to hotspot to my laptop and get some work done.

On the freeway I keep it at 65-70 which is the speed limit here in California. I also use ADAS/cruise control whenever I can.

I'm a Select LFP owner, and there's no means from my anecdotal testing to functionally get the vehicle above 250 miles of range. Just physics. Technically, the car's screen could show 124 miles at 100%, or 498 miles, and it means about the same because you still get in it and drive, and the percentages tick off based on maths. It's either going to get you there, or not.

I have a LFP premium awd. The GOM did seem to read higher after the last update when charging to 100% but weather may have been a factor. Mine read 247 range yesterday and it seemed to track well as I drove about 5 hours. Temperature yesterday morning was about 45F in the morning and 75F in the afternoon. Part of the trip in the am used 20% battery and on the return trip the same route only used 14% when it was warmer. Temperature seems to be the controlling factor. Last summer the highest reading was 270.

Remember two things, you aren’t getting 293 miles unless you drive the car down to 0% to verify. The range will drop at varying rates as you drive depending on the things you mentioned. Warmer weather certainly ups the range as summer gets hotter. Also remember this post when in winter when it only says 200 miles!

(The 100% at a tesla charger comment was because it’s not recommended at DCFC Because of how long it takes. But it sounds like you dont have a home charger so its your only method to charge)

Not arguing the 100% recommendation for your battery chemistry. Just the time it takes to sit and DCFC to 100%. Hey, you do you.....if that's your only option then I have nothing to say about it
