Hi All, I seem to have a strange bug and I am wondering if anyone else has encountered it. When I start cooling my car via the app, the heat on the steering wheel is always on when I get to the car. It is currently summer and well into the 90's and 100's on a daily basis. I have ensured that the steering wheel heat is not turned on via the app. Also, in the car, under the remote start section have set the steering wheel to OFF or AUTO. Sadly I get the same result with both. This was a lovely feature during the winter. Not so much now...

Anyone have a creative idea? Much appreciated!

After starting the car, click on climate setting and make sure you have the steering heater off

Thanks Ali. I wish it was that. It is off. I tried to say that was something that I had already checked but it probably wasn’t clear.

Some of us with 2024s still don't have that submenu. 🤷‍♂️🐩

Maybe toggle the steering heater in the app the next time you remote start to see if that clears it.
And a Sync reboot just for good measure.

I do feel better that you are thinking the same things I have thought of. Sadly, no luck. Weird, huh?!

Not sure if this will make a difference but worth a try.

Somewhere in the settings menu in the car there’s a section for remote start. Make sure it’s set to the one that says something like “last used settings” instead of automatic.

Yup, I have tried both last used as well as Auto and Off. it just really wants me to have warm hands in the summer time. I appreciate the response.

I noticed mine did this a couple days ago. I too double checked my remote start settings in FordPass and it was set for off. I can’t say whether it does it all the time though as I don’t remote start much this time of year.

Yep, same here, driver's seat heater too occasionally. so weird and no settings I could find that would explain it. Ours is a '24 Premium

A little relief I am not the only one! Although it’s not occasionally for me. Very consistent. Every day when I leave the office, I start cooling my car and come out to my car with a steering wheel toasty warm and the heater on. 😂

I have a '24 and I do have that sub menu:unsure:. I noticed today mine was set to 67 which is the winter heat setting, not 73 which is my summer AC setting (and what it was set to on that sub menu the last time I looked a few months back). It did show the steering wheel heat off however even with the 67 set-point. I'll find out soontm if resetting to 73 will make a difference?

They got the idea from my building, where the heater is running on one side to keep the overly cool side of the building from freezing everyone. (Somewhere someone probably designed this, whilst sober)
