2021 Mach-E Extended Range
Hello,

In January I bought a used 2021 Mach-E RWD extended range, I'm from Europe. I don't remember exactly which power-up was installed initially, but since then I have never received UI updates or substantial changes to the car, so I think I have received at most 2-3 OTAs in total, if ever. A few months ago I received several notifications about installed updates, but the power-up version was always 4.2.1.2 and the update notes were always the same. So I think it was bugged and showed the same notification multiple times for some weeks.

Since I know that I'm on an old software version (SYNC 23095_PRODUCT revision 807, so a 2-year-old version  I don't have BlueCruise, still on the old UI, etc.), I bought everything necessary to update the car via FDRS.

I thought I'd find lots of updates in FDRS, but instead I only had:
  • ACM
  • DSP
  • HVAC
  • PCM -> BECM -> SOBDMC -> SOBDM
  • WACM
After updating all of them, there were no more updates available in FDRS... Is there something that I can do to unlock my car and obtain some new updates? I know that OTAs are released by Ford and there is no way to force them, but it looks strange to me that I'm stuck in a such old version, isn't it?

Maybe a PMI on some modules (GWM, CMR, ..) to reset something stuck? Maybe some configurations on Forscan?

Thanks for helping!

Nothing you can do. If FDRS updates are up to date, nothing to do. Waiting and pray God.

I have kind of same problem, but luckily I still have warranty. I have old software (without bluecruise), and Ford, Fordpass and dealer are pointing to each other.

Have been calling, mailing, chatting, for almost 2 months now but finally have an appointment at the dealer in 2 weeks from now. If they cannot fix it with FDRS or any other means, I'm gonna claim warranty as I consider my car broken.

Give it a few weeks and it'll find some new ones for you. FDRS oddly doesn't show everything available. It offers in a sequence. It took me a few rounds of this to catch my car up.

There is also a pause on APIM/Sync updates that are older currently. This will likely be what's stopping you. I'd imagine they'll have it fixed soon.

I'm already giving it several months, no one of the "experts" seems to no why, but they also can't help me. Ford 's update mechanism just sucks.

Maybe... But why doesn't anyone from Ford give me this answer? Not even in 20+ phone calls!
Unsure but if you're using FDRS - hop onto PTS and you can read it under the OASIS messages yourself :)

I'm using neither of them, but I expect my dealer to have both. And also Ford helpdesk should know this shit...

I agree, but the problem is that even if you consider your car broken, I don’t think they’ll accept it as a warranty issue (since the car is fully operational without any errors, even if you don’t receive updates). But please let me know if you find a solution with your dealer or Ford!

I had access to FDRS and bought a 2 day license, during which I executed all the available updates mentioned in the first post. The license is now expired, but I’m planning to buy it again in 1–2 weeks to see if more updates become available. But can you explain what you’re referring to? I’ve learned how to do updates and PMI, but I don’t know what PTS and OASIS messages are :D

When you buy the license on Ford Service Info - generate the key, and then click the title that’s blue on the license page and it’ll load PTS which is a portal for information for dealerships and lets you check remote status of cars.

I’d wait around a month between purchasing license. I’d also suggest buying the 2 hour license if in Europe as it works for 2 days :)

Good afternoon:

As I assume some of you know, Ford is eliminating the FDRS User License and is moving away from subscription (account) usage via email/pwd.

It's getting better. I hope it's for the better.

@Booob There is nothing you are doing wrong. See attached SSM released to Ford dealers on June 20th:

Ford Mustang Mach-E OTA stuck on 4.2.1.2 in europe and no FDRS updates available for my VIN 1754943272854-h4

Your Sync version is below 23187, so if you are not showing any more updates for the GWM, APIM and/or TCU, there is nothing you can do but wait for Ford to get their things together and release more updates for your VIN and countless other vehicles worldwide affected by this.

That's unfortunate

I hope they sort this out and release an update soon. It makes no sense that I likely could have updated the APIM in may, but now I can't.

Has any official reason been given for this SSM? I've searched online but haven't found any details..

I don't know the reason. In my opinion, it's absolutely ridiculous.
