As far as Iām aware they didnāt say it wasnāt possible. They did say that if it was implemented at the moment without an audible warning as the car was less secure as it couldnāt be double locked with walk away locking then the cars insurance group would increase by 2 points.
Does your car...
In my experience the dealers wonāt help with OTA problems as theyāre not covered under warranty and will just threaten to charge you. Well, that was my experience with Evans Halshaw and Macklin motors!
Iāve got a 21 model and had issues with version 1.7.1. Ended up having to get the Ford EV team...
I would hardly say the updates necessarily equate to improvements. Half of them seem to be fixing things that werenāt working as planned originally!?
And then thereās the growing number of features that have been removed from FordPass.
And they still canāt show the charging speed in the carā¦?
Sounds like typical Ford messaging!
At least they let the people who it wasnāt working for and werenāt able to use it know that it was being withdrawn!?
You shouldāve had a message on the FordPass app to say the feature was being temporarilyā removed. It never worked for me anyway.
Most of the messages in my app are about features being removed!?
Yeah, if itās any consolation I got another update today after my 20 minute drive to work so theyāre still updating the ones that are a wee bit behind.
It was priority update: 22-PU0706-SCH-POPA
Iām slowly catching up so hopefully you shouldnāt be far behind. ?
I donāt have a āremote start via wi-fiā function. My remote start works as long as the car has access to a cellular network like when Iām at work so it is not reliant on wi-fi.
Ford have advised me that the wifi only remains on for a maximum of 15 minutes once vehicle is switched off?āāļø
2...
The problem with that though is the phrase āstands to reasonā which Iāve found rarely applies with Ford.
If the car was always connected to wifi I donāt believe that so many people would be having issues with the OTA updates.
Sorry, but this is a sore subject for me based on the issues Iāve...
I donāt know if it would be worth it to be honest.
You would have to know that the update was available to download for your vehicle as Ford seem to release them in batches. Otherwise you would just be leaving your car on for nothing.
Iām only on 2.6.0 and have had the car 2 years.
Ford seem...
Can I ask what evidence that you have that the car is connected to wifi when itās off and that the downloads occurred when it was off?
In the 2 years Iāve had my car itās only shown on my network when itās powered on or for a few minutes after being turned off.
The guidance youāve quoted seems...
Iām only speculating on this based on my year long journey of trying to get successful OTA updates but it seems youāre more likely to get the updates if the car is driven more often. The duration of the ādrive cycleā also plays a part. This is the time between car being switched on and then...
Iām in exactly the same boat. I was updated to 2.3.0 in February this year.
The most recent update I got was: Priority Update 22-PU0727-VI-FXA on 16/6/23
Nothing yet about the recent batches but I donāt know if I need to go through any previous updates to catch up first!
I posted about it on...
Some interesting details on the most recent OTA updates.
Iāve had the car for 2 years and only now finding out about the updates and ādrive cyclesā!?
Stop showing off!:p
The last update I got was 2.6.0 10 days agoā¦
Of course, Iām a model year 2021 whoās had software issues for over a year so I guess Iām still playing catch up.?
There are a lot of variables but Iāve only really saw it go that low when the car is up near 100% on the rare occasions I charge that high.
Other than that it sits at 7kw.
