Diablo sports EV monitor

I had posted this in another thread and they suggested I start a new thread so we could discuss this very expensive toy that my wife purchased for me this Christmas?

What does it provide that you can't get with CarScanner Pro and an OBD adapter? CarScanner Pro cost was $4.76 for me.

You left out the price of your phone. I'd venture half the cost of the Diablo unit is the screen. (Not half the retail cost but have the manuf cost)

I'm curious to see a photo of it installed in your car. (I'm not sure where I would put it if I had one.)

Can this remain plugged in without draining 12v battery?

The Diablo is not cheap, I believe it’s 299 or $399 – – like I said it was a gift I do know on their website you can buy a plug-in tuner for the Diablo that allows you to set pedal response and several other variables

here’s a photo of my installation in the GT. This was not how I originally had it attached; it comes with a suction cup, that you can stick to the lower part of the window. I decided to see what would happen if I could wed it between my screen holder and the door jam and guess what fits perfectly!?

It’s been there for 1500 miles, 2 road trips to Mississippi 1 road trip to Atlanta and driving all over town - potholes & anll! and it has not dislodged. ?

oh, and to answer other questions about 12 V drainage. The answer is no. the unit goes to sleep automatically when power is turned off. In fact by default, the unit will stay in auto sleep until you touch the screen, even if the MME is powered on.

having just bought our MME in November, I’m still learning the ins and outs of the Mach E, and I have barely scratched the service of the Trinity since I’ve only had it for a little over a month now. I can’t say this, the customization of the PID on the screens make this a very useful information system.

others who have mentioned smart, phone apps, and Bluetooth ODBC connectors, have their points as well as I said in the OP I probably would not have gotten this for myself – – it was a gift?- -however, this is one of the few accessories short of the aftermarket OEM rearview mirror dash cam unit) that absolutely works flawlessly with the MME, with minimal power drain during operation. (they discussed this in the deep dive article I included in my post.)

Sorry about the quality of the pictures. My granddaughter is taking a nap now and I had to sneak out to the car. Take the pictures and come back in here and post them before she wakes up???

I've really been wanting something like this.
Not to poo-poo this device or that the op got this as a gift.....has @Ford Motor Company ever indicated that this type of info would eventually be coming to the MME?

This type of info is already in the Ford system (the PI IDs) it’s just that Ford has chosen not to display them, or allow the user to display them in any fashion, as does Tesla.

Now, having said that it is highly likely that Ford who has committed collaboration with Apple CarPlay will allow this type of integration to occur in CarPlay 2 because Apple has said they are going to deeply integrate with the infotainment and PID system

it is literally wedged between the display holder and the pillar that’s it

It’s pretty cool, but also makes me sad.

The Diablosport trinity is usually used to reprogram cars to add more horsepower.

This tells me Diablo basically gave up on that idea.
