  1. PSA Lug Nuts in CA Rte 1 are different

I installed my CA Rte 1 wheels for the spring time and to do some range testing on my Premium ER. Just a heads up the premium and Select lug nuts differ from the CA Rte 1’s. The Rte 1’s are longer to hold the wheel cover.
  2. Loving the ads today……Kia on the Mach E Forum….

    Hmm Kia or Ford….
  3. Mach E AWD Equivalent MPG of ICE Cars in New England based on Gas Cost.

I evaluate my EVs this way. It know not many others do, but to me it paints a great picture of the benefit of EVs based on Home Level 2 Charging. I calculated the equivalent MPG of an ICE car to match the Mach E for my home electrical rate and the EA rate and figured I would share it. I am...

  7. Winter trip with my other EV, the most Efficient, Ioniq 28 Kw.

Decided to leave my Mach E behind today for a quick trip to the City…....24 degrees F, 50-55 MPH and heat on the whole way…….3.7 Mi/kWh. I know it’s not the most sexy, luxurious and high performance EV, it gets no attention on the road, no All Wheel Drive, no glass roof and Pitiful range of 110...
  8. Finally found the 10% discrepancy between displayed Mi/kWh and Real Mi/kWh, and TRUE efficiency,

The trips efficiency meter is always off by 8-10%. it’s always higher than if you take the miles travelled and divide by the KW of the delta of Battery Percentages during a trip. I could never figure out what the difference was. Today I proved that the trips is spot on and even a little...
  9. Frozen Closed Charge Door, Iced in, Easy No Heat Solution

At around 9:00 PM last night the temperatures fell below freezing and it was raining for the previous 4 hours. The freezing rain continued (about 1/2" worth) and then changed to frozen ice pellets around 2:00 AM when temps dropped to the 20's. We have 2"-3" of frozen ice pellets, on top of the...
  10. Cold AM Battery Preconditioning Trend, Job 2, plugged in overnight -1F

Sorry about the loss of data full data. I had hoped to capture the full precondition but My IPad went out during the trending just before the cabin preheat portion occurred. It was cold in the car and the IPad battery did not last. But it did capture most of the battery warm up using the...
  11. Installed CarScannerPro on MMB player. Now getting OBD data on the Mach E screen

With a WiFi Dongle, now I can have access to all OBD data on the Mach E screen. Live data and trend data. I will have to build a custom dashboard of important stuff. Pretty cool!
  12. Another cold Morning Commute 1F/-17C, all temperature trends, Job 2 ER

Here are today’s trends. Trended nearly everything EV and Heating. Not as cold as Last week but close. Same deal, No plug in, dead cold, 20 Min driveway warm up, 10.8 mile drive to work. Difference was heat on 72, Manual Fan 3. 1/2 way through adjusted to Manual Fan 4 due to window fogging...
  13. -22C /-8F Cold start, no plug in, no precondition, and drive to work Trend/Graph/Climate Temps Premium ER Job 2 Build

Appears to work properly and no issues, Although I have not analyzed fully the graphs yet. I will say not the speediest climate system…. -22C, -8F Ambient, Not plugged in, 46% Battery, No preconditioning. Sat in drivers seat cold, started car with climate off (to get OBD to read), trend...
  14. Ioniq 5 AWD and two Mach E select RWDs still available in Bangor Maine

Quirk Hyundai and Darlings Ford. Matte gray and space white. MSRP.
  15. Interesting calculations ID.4 ranges, cool weather from YouTube.

I had some time to kill and calculated real efficiencies from this video. I have not heard much about ID4 range in cooler temps. 1st edition 2021 VW id.4 . I think it’s the RWD version., 8000 miles, 77kw battery, GOM showed 210 miles of range full charge for the 100% charge leg. Climate...
  16. A new low. Cold weather round trip, 1.55 mi/kWh, Range of 138 Miles, Premium ER AWD.

I hit a new low last night with a 79 mile trip out to dinner. -2 to 3F, an average speed of 45 MPH, 3 people, dry salted roads. We started with 80% battery, not preconditioned, cold interior, returned home with 23% battery. 39.2 miles to and from. So, 0.57*88=50.2 kWh to drive 78.4 miles is...
  17. Is the Ford Connected Charge Station this Lame?

I have to say it was free and I am not complaining about that and it’s a 48 Amp unit. But the reporting, trending etc is very poor. I do not see why anyone would buy one of these for $500-$800. ChargePoint and others offer so much more information, cost calculation, scheduling, utility...
  18. To ICE or Not.....Last Minute Trip Experience.

I am glad I value my time and my mother's Ford Edge was available at about 1/3 the way through this trip yesterday (only 2/3 of the trip shown). I still did 1/3 with the Mach E. A recent last minute trip out of State to replace a failed major appliance (Augusta, Maine to Stoughton, MA). To...
