No just a cover plate where they were located on earlier cars.

Every Ford I have ever owned has been of poorer build quality than the Honda's and Toyota vehicles that I have owned. I own a Driving School and have multiple vehicles with some being on loan while others that I have purchased and the Mach E (even though I like it) is subpar from the Honda and Toyota vehicles that I have had. I am not sure about Alfa Romeo vehicles as I have never owned one but they may be in line with Ford and that may explain the little difference in the two?

Take it with a grain of salt, but when I googled build quality for the Alfa, this is the first thing that showed up.

Are there some poor build quality Honda and Toyotas? The short answer is yes. They are not perfect either but they (in my personal experience) are MUCH better. ;)
I've bought about thirty cars over the preceding decades and am a pretty good judge of build quality. Honda and Toyota have always rated a high level of quality. I've owned a couple ferraris and they had by far the poorest stereo and crappy interior fittings of any car I've owned. I had three different alfas, a 4c, stelvio and giulia and was very impressed with components, fit and finish.

Maybe, but they look like and are driven by my Aunt Martha.

I always felt that your "Aunt Martha" was much smarter with the purchase of her cars (quality wise) than her nephew though. ;)
