I just got a brand new 2025 Mach e premium. I love the car but…. in the evening the instrument panel shows up as a reflection on the top of the windshield in front of the driver. This is not a feature. This is not a heads up display. The image is upside down and in reverse.

I am 6 feet tall and the seat is all the way down. If I move the seat up, the reflection moves off of the windshield nonetheless, this should not be happening.

Does anybody else have this problem and if you do, how did you fix it?

I'm 6'2" and never noticed but I do keep everything in dark mode so try that.

Maybe change the screen to always be in dark mode and turn down the screen brightness?
I have played around with this but it is my feeling that I shouldn't have to do that. The instrument lights should not be reflecting off the top of the windshield. I am wondering if you might check your view with the seat all the way down in the dark of night to see if it happens to you. Maybe it is just my car. Thanks for the feedback.

I am using dark mode too. I don't think this should happen in dark or light or auto mode. Thanks for the reply.

Out of curiosity, I checked mine, and there is a reflection. It’s much more visible in person than my photo.

Not really in my field of view or bothersome (full brightness):

And when dimmed it disappears!

Try:
  • Dim your instrument cluster brightness (50% suggested)
  • Raise your seating position so your head is higher and your eyes are level with the bottom of the rearview mirror
  • Put down your sun visor

When your headlights are on, they’ll be way brighter than the reflection as well.

I can do all of the things suggested but I should not have to do that. There should not be a glare on the windshield from the dash. Here is a picture of my problem.

So you could do all the things suggested to fix it, but you also shouldn’t have to do any of them.

Guess your option is to return the car to the dealer?
