When I start my car remotely and the AC is on, it is really loud outside the car. Is this typical, or should I bring it back to the dealership to check out?

It doesn't sound "wrong," just loud. Much louder than any precious ICE vehicles I've owned.

Mine is loud too. I don't know if it is really loud or not, it can sound louder than ICE AC due to lack of engine noise.

While on the AC topic - it doesn't feel that it cools the cabin enough during remote start. I've tried both the auto and last setting options, but it's not what I'd like to get after 10 minutes of working AC. Any suggestions?

Yep, AC is quite loud mostly due to the cooling fan. You also need to take into account the AC is also cooling the battery if its really hot outside. Last couple of days its been in the 90's and I remote start to cool the cabin down and its quite comfortable after a few minutes.

This seems to be normal behavior for both my MME and Lightning during remote starting in the summer. I've gotten used to it. The cooling fan(s) seems to calm down after you get in and press the start button to drive off.

No engine noise to compete with. I know our ICE with the AC on produces similar driveway noise but is a lot quieter once we're going down the road.

Are the vents on the lower grill open? If so, what you're hearing is the blowers for the battery coolant. Those typically don't run when you're driving, but if the car has been sitting in the heat they kick in to cool the battery down when you start it

At start, MME is very loud indeed. I thought I started another car but came to realize that it was MME because of missing turbo pipe noise.

If you move to San Francisco (current outdoor temperature 55Âş), the car will remain nearly silent. (Of course your range will also suffer due to the cool temps and your bank account will suffer due to everything else!) ?

Totally normal. It’s not nearly as loud as L2 charging at 48amps on a hot day! It calms down after a bit, not immediately after starting via button or driving off, and it can be somewhat disconcerting.

I don’t think it’s related at all to remote start. Get in the car, start it with AC on, get out. It will sound the same, presuming similar ambient conditions.

correct. It has to do with a hot HVB; the cooling fans for that are loud

Have noticed this too, but more so when the AC is on auto high and the temp is "low". Noise is much reduced if the temp is set at 70 or 72 and auto is not on high.

There is nothing wrong.

When the car is started, depending on the air temp and the temperature than the AC is set on, the shutters may open and the fans may kick into high gear. This also happens when you're in the car and start it, if you opened the door and got out and listened. It ramps down very quickly.

I'm in Arizona with the temp outside being 117 degrees, my info screen shows 138 degrees (which Ford is looking into right now) which is making my fans work overtime and is way louder than my wife's Dodge Caravan. It's annoying when you are trying to have a conversation near the car and embarrassing when you are trying to explain how quiet the car is to EV admirers.
