I was playing around with the Car Scanner Pro app and my BT OBD-II reader and came across a parameter labeled "Accel Use", which appears to display the accelerometer position as a percentage. While stopped and in Park, I am able to see the value change as I press and release the accelerator pedal. What's interesting is that the maximum value I was able to see was something like 78.13%. I normally drive in Engaged mode, and so I thought limiting the maximum accelerometer position might be one of the ways that the different driving modes are differentiated. When I switched between Whisper and Unbridled, the value was still limited to the same value. Is this an indication of a damaged accelerometer pedal? Is this one of the ways that Ford limits performance of different models? I have a 2022 Premium AWD ER. Is anyone else willing to test their vehicle and let e know if this limit is normal?

Normal, the accelerator pedal sensor reading does not go to the absolute extremes. The car is calibrated to know 78% is full throttle.

That sounds like an "opposite Spinal Tap" where the band made the volume control on all of their amplifiers "go to 11" so they would be louder than the amplifiers that "only went to 10". ?

As long as this is by design, I guess I'm good.

Will anyone else confirm this behavior, perhaps across models?

For some reason this thread reminded me of the days when I’d be tinkering with the initial timing and then the Throttle position sensor voltage on one of my 5.0 Fox bodies. Always trying for the .93 - .97 volt reading as I wiggled the sensor slightly and then tightened the screw down. Fun times.

I can confirm this is how it works not just on Mach-E but across other models and makes beyond Ford
I can understand leaving margin on component readings as a common practice (I've done it myself), but the value I get seems interestingly specific (something like 78.13%) and they don't seem to be using any margin on the low end - no pressing of the pedal results in 0% position.

If I think about it a bit ... full throttle at 78% of position sweep is FASTER than having to push it all the way. Maybe the performance enhancement on GTs its at 60% (kidding), But I see it as not limiting you to 78% throttle, but all out at only 78% of pedal travel.
