2023 mach e select RWD
I’ve had my 2023 Mach e select RWD for nearly two months. Every once in a while the adaptive cruise just kicks on. Today it happened as I was turning into my kid’s school. The speed increased as I was turning into the school. I had to immediately put on the brakes and turn off the cruise. I was fine, but I am concerned this continues to happen. Any solutions?

I was thinking the same thing, but I’m not sure that is the case. I’ll continue to monitor and you may be correct. I have thought this was a possibility.
It is definitely an accidental button hit. The t is placed in a spot on the wheel that makes it to easy to activate. Drove me crazy in the beginning. Once I figured it out it doesn’t happen as much anymore.

It'll set to 15 mph when you bump the button usually. Not sure if it's something you train yourself to hold the wheel different but I used to do it once every couple months. Havn't done it in a year+. Good luck, and if you havn't already turn off predictive speed assist in the cruise settings as well.

I think a lot has to do with how we hold the steering wheel. Those taught to hold the steering wheel at 9 and 3 are set up to accidentally engage the acc. I have made a concerted effort to switch my hands to 8 and 4 for this and other reasons.

I have accidentally aactivated it numerous times because of the placement of the button.

It’s happened to me as well, I didn’t have my hands near the buttons, it’s like a warning that pops up with a orange border.

If you’re absolutely convinced you’re not activating it via the button at the 9 o’clock position, file a report with the NHTSA.

I'm experiencing a similar issue, Occasionally, while driving with cruise control turned off and one-pedal braking activated, my car continues at its current speed without braking when I lift my foot off the accelerator. This happens about once a week, usually shortly after starting my drive. It behaves as if adaptive cruise control is engaged and the no-pedal function is disabled. I don't think I am activating the CC button inadvertinly, but based on the comments in this thread I will me more observant.

It happened to me yesterday when I was out, but I wasn’t able to take a picture of it because the notification disappears very quick

The one thing these incidents always have in common is it happens when people are turning the wheel. Very often when they are turning sharply like into a parking spot.

Makes the “accidental button push” the most likely cause.

It’s not at least for me , the times that it happened to me I was going in the straight line

Yours is likely the predictive speed assist with speed side recognition.

Do you have that feature turned on?

No, I literally get a warning pop up , what you mentioned only works with adaptive cruise control, I don’t activate cruise control.
