I own a 21 Mach-E GT Premium and I'm experiencing an unusual situation where when driving with cruise control active the car will erroneously change to an unposted speed limit.

The situation has occurred twice now one when driving 65 mph the car changed showing the speed limit as 85 mph.

The other incident was going 45 mph and it jumped to 65 mph.

Has anyone experienced this or know of a remedy to correct?

I've had this happen in certain areas, for me it's on a stretch of road that is 55 mph, but for some reason it drops to 25 mph in a couple spots. I've looked to see if there is a hidden sign or something it picked up on but cannot see anything. I think somewhere along the line, this incorrect speed was entered.

My 'fix', since I know where this happens is to use the accelerator when I approach the area to maintain the correct speed.

I've contemplated turning off the "intellect cruse control" option so the speed doesn't auto adjust but for me, this happens infrequently enough that it's not worth it for me.

Turn off the Predictive Speed Assist (Speed Sign Recognition) in the Cruise Control menu.

Thank you. I'll give that a shot when I drive home today.

I had the opposite issue where it would random decelerate quickly. As I read around the forum I found another thread where it was stated that in addition to reading signs the predictive speed will use map data. And either the same thread or another one said that the map company was called HERE. So their link is: https://mapcreator.here.com/

I got an account account and looked at the road where I was experiencing similar issues. What I found was side roads of a lower speed (25mph) overlapped the main road (55 mph) and so the GPS would intermittently think I was on the slower road and the car would react. With an account I could submit tickets for errors in their map. I did so for the areas of overlap where I had issues appear to be correct in the maps and I haven't had any more issues. Not saying that this solves all issues but it helped me and may be a way the community can help improve the product.

Hope this helps.

We always have the speed sign recognition on and sometimes it will read a county road sign but we also have a stretch of highway where one day it will stay at 60 both ways, another day it goes to 70 one or both ways. I doubt turning off the speed recognition is going to solve it. The other day my wife was driving and I have it set 4 over and she hit that spot and it takes off and as she's hitting the button to turn down the cruise she meets a deputy, but luckily, he must have been busy with something else. On another spot on another highway with no signs it drops from 60 to 30 for just a short distance. Have also had it read a co rd #85 and that gets your attention.

I turned off the Predictive Speed Assist and that has remedied the issue. Thank you.

I appreciate the suggestion. I will take a look at the site and see if it is showing incorrect information for the stretch's of road it is occurring on. I will follow up with an update on the roads and thank you.
