Just got my MME last week. I have a charger at home, and I am unable to add this to my FordPass to set up my charging times, etc.

How do I get this to work? I have an Autel Home L2 Charger, which can control charge times, etc. So, do I use that t control my charge times or should I schedule this through the FordPass app?

Sorry if this is a repost, and if I could get some information, that would help.

Go sit in the car. Turn it on, hit the home button, charging app, and you can set up your charge preferences and times. Do it in the car, not in the app. Let the car control charging, not the EVSE.

Remember Ford does not recommend charging above 90%, so that's the highest I would set it to.

You cannot add a non-Ford branded charger to the FordPass app. You can set the times in the app or in the car regardless of the charger type, but it's worked better setting it in the car rather than relying on it to push from the app to the car.

The only chargers that can be added to the FordPass app are the Ford Connected Charge Station (which you can buy) or the Ford Charge Station Pro which gets shipped to Lightning ER owners. The Ford Mobile Charger cannot be controlled by an app.

Similar ish question:
My Ford Pass app lists my 240 charging as AC basic, it’s charging at a level 2 rate and all, not at the 120 rate, so it’s functioning properly in that regard. Do I need to delete my original (120) home charging spot on the Ford Pass app, and make a new one, to reflect the faster rate?

No. Your charging locations aren't tie to volts or amps. Nor can you control that in the app. AC Basic is what all home chargers are, even 80amps.

I just got my Ford charging station installed. It looks like it’s paired successfully but when I go to add it to your FordPass app, it just seems to spin and then it says alert on authorized. Any idea what’s going on there? Is there a setting in the FordPass I missed.

It’s been 3 years since I set mine up, but I had the same problem. If memory serves, my problem ended up being that the FCSP and my phone were connected to different access points (different SSIDs) on my home network.

Well, when I selected the set up manually, it took me from the station set up into the FordPass and I was able to set it up without error. Now I can see where I can lock people out or whatever so I guess it’s OK now it just doesn’t like to do it on the automatic for some reason.

Keep in mind, this is not true for the Job 2/2023.5 standard range Mach Es. They switched those to an LFP chemistry and it's fine/generally recommended to charge them to 100% for regular driving.
