Alternative ways to protect your car from hail

We get the occasional hail here in sunny CA. In my case last Thursday. Luckily the car was in the garage... (Luckily, I have a garage.)

Once, my sister, then living in IL had her cars totaled by a hail storm.

Yeah, see that’s what I’m talking about. My dad lives in Minnesota. Well, he’s passed away, but he lived in Minnesota and his park Avenue got totally looked like it sat on the driving range for a whole week and they said that’s not repairable pretty much it’s a total loss unless you want to drive it like that, the glass was all fine

The whole hail thing is something I am concerned with about our upcoming trip to South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming. Haven’t had that as an issue since coming to the PNW.
