ambient lighting change with drive mode

Am I missing something here, i thought there was an option to sync the ambient lighting with the drive mode. Now I can't find the option to do that. Did I imagine that option exists when in fact it doesn't?

Yes, it was there before the SYNC gui refresh. It disappeared along with the option to use large tiles and turn off the charge port light. It seems that Ford thinks they were giving us too many options, so they decided that they would just choose for us.

I am very confused as to what you guys are talking about, my car has that option, it's a 2023 GT PE with the refreshed UI (Revision 980). My ambient lights change color with drive mode just fine.

That auto option isn't there on mine (though it used to be a slider on the main drive mode screen).

I wonder if it's a GT only thing now? If so, should be able to enable that option via Forscan somehow

And I know it would be very stupid to make this be a GT only option, but then again the power meter on the IPC is at GT only thing...

More likely it was an 'oops didn't mean for that to happen' thing. Sometimes Ford messes up configuration data during deployment of software updates to existing vehicles.

I just checked and my 2023 GTPE also has the option for auto ambient lighting just like the pic that @cryptk posted. The last update I received was 6.1 a couple of weeks ago.

Wanted to chime in on my experience with this, as well. Picked up my '21 First Edition in July of 2023 as a CPO model, and had the ambient light changing with drive mode thing - just assumed it was a (clever) feature of all Mach E's. I don't recall ever seeing the option to enable or disable this, by the way. This worked on my car up until maybe October or November of 2023, where it randomly disappeared. I have no slider to enable it, just checked for one this morning (after reading this thread).

I have the option, but I also enabled the GT power meter on my 2023 Premium via Forscan. Not sure if related.

My Sync version is 23297 Rev 1058. Powerup 6.8

seems the option, as discussed above, was removed for non-GT models.

My ‘21 MME GT PE changed the ambient lights with drive mode when I purchased it. I did a factory reset and now the ambient lights are static
If I reset the vehicle again and leave the ambient lights alone, will they go back to auto selection? Has anyone tried this?

For what it’s worth, I did this yesterday and it did not change the ambient lights back to auto
