The only ambient temperature I see is when you are in calm mode (via holding in the large volume button). However, the manual both PDF and in the car indicate the lower-left spot of the instrument cluster can be either a compass or the ambient temperature. I can't find a way of switching to the temperature.

https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/configuring-instrument-cluster-display.4309/ seemed to also point this out and has photos of a Mach-E from a YT channel showing temperature.

Is it really an EU vs NA thing, or does anyone know how to get ambient temperature instead of a compass?

Yup, it's a European thing. The only temperature that's currently available in the US is in the center screen.

Grrrrrrrr. Hopefully an OTA update will give configuration for that, but such a small thing not sure I'll anticipate it.

Thanks for letting me know.

The ambient temp reading that remains full time on the upper right of the Sync screen doesn't meet your needs?

I do think it would be cool if we could have some different choices in what we see on the driver's screen. Many other vehicles and all other Ford EVs offer something like that. Maybe in the future....

Not really. I have progressive bifocals and need to work too hard to read it while driving. I’d like a switch option too. Still on 1.6 so I can’t get to the calm screen without menus. When I get to 10K miles, will take it in for the recalls along with standard maintenance.

That spot works in a pinch but the one on the instrument cluster would be easier to read while driving. But thanks for pointing it out, it is nice that the ambient temperature is there too.

My last car had temp front and center, just liked it. There were about 8 settings to scroll through. Always kept temp there.

That reading isn't really ambient anyway. It is the temp under the front compartment so that will vary quite a bit from the actual ambient temp. As far as I know, there isn't a reliable sensor in the car for that reading. Not sure why....???

I think the only time I really look at that reading is when I am on a road trip. That way I know what to expect when I park and open the door. :)

Anyone with a EU VIN that I can peek at? I'd like to compare configurations to see if I can isolate it for the US version.

Since my car has summer tires on it, I checked occasionally on every trip during the winter. Now that it’s warming up, I am not as concerned. ??

just wanted to follow up and say this was very productive! Thanks for the VIN. Modded the IPC with Forscan to enable Temp on IPC. Unfortunately, it seems it’s either temp or compass, not both. I’ll post a tutorial after I play around some more.

I live in the mountains of West Virginia. Often the temperature varies from 30 degrees to 34 over the course of a couple miles, and on wet roads, that matters. A lot.
