From yesterday I had a hard time to connect android auto. Today I could not connect at first, so I gave up but leave the bluetooth on. It suddenly showed the Google map on the screen but without the top bar button.

The phone, Pixel 6 pro, connects to the car well, just the android auto has issues, it used to resolve itself if I disconnect and reconnect the Bluetooth, but now it's not the case anymore.

The button is very important to quickly switch to Android auto. Does this happen to anyone?

the android auto button on the top bar doesn't show when you're in one of the other top bar functions (settings, camera view, etc) - you just hit the "X" for the function you're in and it should go back to android auto (if it is connected).

if you open one of the "apps" (like navigation, charging, tire pressure, etc from the home menu or the tiles above the HVAC/comfort controls) then the android auto button appears on the top bar.

when my android auto (wireless primarily) does disconnect i try the bluetooth off/on toggle first (either on the car side or the phone) and if that doesn't work i reboot Sync/APIM (with the vol down+next steering wheel buttons simultaneously) and it usually reconnects.

it's "rebooting the center screen" on page 388 of the 2023 mach-e manual in case. i almost always end up with the volume down to zero so check that after the center screen comes back up.
